Yeah, I don't want Rubio, his ball handling skills were less than decent, and at PG, that's a bad thing. (side note: Dragic for center! what a block!)
Why? Beasly is horrible on defense and Rubio is one of the worst point guards (maybe even the worst) in Euroleague.
No. Brandon Jennings is extremely overrated. He's not a good NBA player at all. He was an awful Euroleague player, so him simply being average in the NBA suddenly makes him "good". He plays no defense. He is a chucker. Bad shot selection. Very inefficient shooter. And the difference is that while Jennings sucked in Euroleague, he was not left wide open and literally unguarded in every game. Rubio is left wide open and left basically unguarded in Euroleague. He is treated the same way in Euroleague as Ben Wallace is in NBA on offense. The guy regularly air balls shots. 2-3 air balls (when he is not being guarded) a game is quite common. Rubio simply cannot shoot and cannot score at this point. The truth about Rubio is that Barcelona has been trying everything to get rid of him. He is basically at this time the same player as Rafer Alston, but a worse shooter and with less range.
We will take their no.2 pick in exchange for taking McHale off their hands. Skip was a good ball handler. Rubio is just an overhyped Euroleaguer for some odd reason. I don't know what scouts ever saw in him.
Minnesota is NOT going to trade Rubio after all the overtime and extended budgets being wasted on him already. They have been desperate to have him play in Minny. And why would they trade the chance for Williams? Williams isnt going to be very far behind Granger in a few years anyways. I can see them trading Flynn and Beasley along with their 20th pick, maybe even Wes. They have a log jam on the wing, especially at 3, even Randolph can play 3. They will probably clear up the logjam and get a legit starting 2. Wayne Ellington and Martel Webster arent going to cut it. They need a solid 5 as well. Darko is only good for 20 MPG or so. Maybe Pekovic will improve this year? Rubio/Ridnour ?????/Webster Williams/Johnson Love/Randolph Darko/?????? If they want vet presence maybe they can trade - Flynn, Beasley, Ellington + 20th pick for Hamilton or Captain Jack.
The Wolves have been watching all of Rubio's games since they drafted him. The Wolves know better than anyone how much he sucks. They will definitely trade him for any decent offer.
If Morey gets Rubio and the #2 for some package of Kevin Martin or Luis Scola and change, he has confirmed he's a genius.
Again, judging Rubio's NBA talent against inferior talent is unfair, even If it doesn't bode well for his future at the top level.
He has far better and more talented teammates on Barca than the Rockets roster has. Let's see how well he plays with inferior talent like the Rockets, that would get swept 4-0 in a 7 game series against Rubio's team, especially if he was removed from it.
Ignorance is bliss... Oooooooo I am reallllllly scared of that roster!!!!!! :grin: DLeague scrubs, 2 Rocket rejects and NBA has-beens... (Not to mention all the guys that couldn't make the NBA If they were granted with 70 inch verticals from Christ himself)
