But shaq is now in the east. and i remember tim guarding shaq on the wcf the year they won the championship and if jo signed with the spurs i thougt he would play the center spot.
Well for whatever reasons, the Spurs and Duncan continue this ridiculous habit of playing Duncan at the PF with a stiff at the C. It was a good idea when they had DRob, but now it's just holding them back from trying to land decent PFs, because there are a lot more decent PFs in the league than decent Cs.
Benching Rasha could backfire too. He is in his prime and signed there as a starter when he could have gone back to Minny. How will his confidence and team commitment be affected with such a move? Even if they signed Karl he doesn't have much left, and then you have to go back to Rasha again. If Karl goes there, the smart thing is to have him as a sub. Reduce his injury potential, keep him fresh, and keep continuity with TD-Rasha starting. There would be plenty of minutes for Karl as a sub because Tim slides to the 5 whenever Rasha is out. Same deal for Minny. Now they could slide Spree at the 2, KG at the 3, and Karl at the 4, but why disrupt a group that was obviously very effective last year. If he does go to Minny start Karl on the bench. With KG's flexibility to play between the 3-5 depending on match-ups, plenty of minutes available for Karl off the bench just as in SA. I don't think a starting position is a big deal to Karl--if it is it is just one for knock on him and his big ego.
