I would definitely trade for Butler but I would also ask for one of their centers and Miller...Morey has always wanted Miller on the squad and was after Butler last year so I would expect them both coming back. This would simply be a salary dump and a chance to start over for the Wiz, especially if they can void Arenas' deal after the gun drama, so I don't think we would be giving up to much more then TMAC+fillers.
Pretty sure Butler can play both. NOt saying Butler is or isnt the guy but we need a 2 in the worst way possible.
lol! That cracked me up.. I think Morey will get this done just to take revenge on T-Mac and put him in a life or death situation .. literally.
Personally I think Iguodala fits us better than Butler. We need a sg not a sf. Iguadola's PER is 7th in the league at sg at 18.66 right behind Joe Johnson, ahead of Vince Carter, Jamal Crawford, Ben Gordon, Monta Ellis, Rudy fernandez, Eric Gordon, and L Barbosa. Butler has a PER of 14.28 which ranks him 17th at sf. We just don't need another sf. Iguodala fits this team perfectly IMO.
that 3 is better off doing #2 in the loo instead of creating shot attempts anyway. how good is butler guys? can he create?
Really great to see these rumors get out there so there can be a "bidding war" for Tmac's contract. I like Iggy's game better than Butlers as I think Iggy is a better playmaker and defender. Iggy is also younger and less injury prone. That said Butler is really solid and has a better contract. The plus with Washington I think is that they have more "young assets" they can attach to Butler in a deal then Philly does. The more teams that can "brought up" with regards to Tmac's contract the better to give the Rockets more leverage.
I hope Landry or Luis aren't included. I'm also worried that the Wizards will ask for Brooks or Lowry. I like Caron, but he is playing with an ankle injury. Can anyone tell me how often has he gotten hurt in the past and how many games has he missed because of them?
Could be the case but I doubt Washington is going to be including any high draft picks given how close they are to imploding their entire roster. In any event, Butler is a good player but he doesn't interest me all that much. He's always had injury issues and he's going to be 30 by the end of the season. Not only that, but he's not really a two. Could he help us? Yeah, I just think (or HOPE) that there are better deals available. Iguodala still blows this guy out of the water when you consider the overall package.
Wizards are now desperate to dump long-term salary commitments. Cleveland has shown an interest in Antawn Jamison but is reluctant to trade Ilgauskas's expiring contract, since they'd like to keep him (or have the other team agree to waive him so that the Cavs can pick him up 30 days later). So, with that in mind, would the following trade work for all parties?: Houston gets: Caron Butler, Zydrunas Ilgauskas Cleveland gets: Antawn Jamison Washington gets: Tracy McGrady, Cavs' 2010 first round pick Houston gets Butler (who, in my personal opinion, is better than any outside free agent the Rockets could realistically hope to get this summer) and agrees to waive/buy out Big Z so that Cleveland can re-sign him. Cleveland gets the guy they want in Jamison and will still be able to re-sign Big Z for the veteran's minimum 30 days later. Washington gets out from under two long-term deals, saving about $24M in salary next season, plus they get a late first rounder. For those of you who want more from the Wizards, remember that the Rockets will be seeking to avoid the LT next season, and will still need to re-sign Scola and Lowry to larger contracts. Just getting Caron Butler (who makes "only" $10.5M next season, not bad for his level of production) gives the Rockets the ability to improve next summer by re-signing Scola and Lowry, signing a mid-first round pick and still maybe using the MLE.
are u kidding?? stacy will fadeaway unload his barrel on arenas from 20ft back no problem  13 blanks in 35 seconds!
