    My favorite lines

"They've accepted everything about Josh Smith, and that means everything to him. He's been a rim protector and a rebounder, a defender and driver. Give us your three-pointers, the Rockets told him. He's making them, too."

Great read! It's fun to read some good press about him. But it's weird, where was the part about him being a locker room cancer? Surely DaDakota wasn't just completely making that up?

    Great read.

One thing that I found really disturbing when we signed him was that people we accusing him of being some sort of thug. Never understood that. I don't recall any type of off court incident where he was involved and not much on the court either. But people here were worried about him being a locker room cancer? I didn't understand that.

I could tell from his first game that he would be a great addition to this team. He fills the stat sheet! Sure he takes questionable shots but you have to live with it. Honestly, he does more positive on the court to warrant some bad shots.

I really think he will pay the most dividend come playoff time. His versatility makes our second unit an absolute terror to deal with.

Its too early but if we can keep him for a relatively cheap contract in the offseason (around MLE), I would jump all over it.

I've always long thought Josh Smith's issue isn't the 3s so much as the long 2s. He's basically cut out that part of his game. For comparison, in the past 15 games after he became a bench player, his eFG% is 51%. That is the highest since 2008. His eFG% with Detroit was in the mid-40s. And even at his peak in Atlanta, basically in the ~50% range.

There's still a dropoff because Josh Smith isn't getting his dunks and FTs, which is sagging his TS%. It's probably an age thing, and it's unfortunate we're not seeing the highlight reel Josh Smith here. But it's clear that he can be efficient enough with the right shot selection.

Good read, though you already knew Woj would favor the Rockets.

It was great to see Josh on the bench, he was so pumped up. He was like...what you see Terry doing. Cheering other teammates on and stuff, was great to see.

We need to Trade TJones, add NO's pick and maybe cannan to get us Dragic/Lawson type of player here. Would be huge improvement. Even if we love TJ, it's just business. I'm more feared that other teams would want DMO more now.

There's a reason Woj always hits a home run with Rockets rumors. Morey knows how to play the game.

Smith has always been deemed a thug because he doesn't play "smart" basketball. It makes no sense.

If it fits his narrative then he most certainly would.

It's way to premature to call Josh Smith revived. This is a good two week stretch; let's hope its a harbinger of better things to come rather than a positive deflection to outweigh the crappy one that accompanied him when he first signed here, followed by a regression to a less crappy mean.

We'll need him, that's for sure.

I'm glad Smoove is a Rocket. He's been really great off the bench. Good to hear he's happy here.

But according to posters on here, Smith is a cancer and malcontent! Screw Woj and the facts, right??

Not everyone is going to agree with me, but (if true) this speaks volumes about his character! Many athletes have had a similar rags to riches storyline, but only a few remain grounded to the real world once they get their benjamins! So far, he's been a pleasant surprise, if you believed all the mumbo that was said about him.

    GO ROCKETS!!!
