I would love JVG to be back. Yes his offense was bad the last time he was here, but I do recall the first year T- Mac was here and bob sura came back from injury half way through the season. That team was fun to watch because sura would bring the ball up the court get the rockets into their offense and t Mac would be coming of screens for jumpers. Or he would drive and dish to a wide open Jon Barry, David Wesley, or Scott Padgett. That was a good team right there given the circumstances. That offense look a lot more efficient than this bs we see right now.

We've already seen what they do with a young coach... and we've seen what they do with a former respected player (but questionable coach).

If you eliminate task-master that demands respect, you're basically running out of any and all potential options.

In that case, it would technically be easier to get rid of the players and start all over, rather than find a coach that may or may not get them to respond.

FOUR? Curry, Thompson, Green... that's about it. Bunch of good role players after that.

JBB has been and will be a lifetime assistant coach. I meant a young coach with head coaching experience. Like a college coach. Sean Miller for example.

why the hell JVG is hesitating? He prefers a lowly broadcaster position rather than being the head coach of a team?

And why would Harden or Howard ever trust a college coach? Not saying they wouldn't, but you could just as easy see a similar negative response as they would with a task-master.

Again, Coach K and perhaps the Villanova guy are the only ones who could walk in here tomorrow and demand respect, and neither of them are leaving where they are.

Shakka Smart would have actually been a decent hire... if UT hadn't got to him first.

Sorry.. should have clarified that to be ex-NBA player....LOL.

I still think JVG's response was hilarious... "he's the T-mac of Greece? that's great... we have the T-mac of here on this team."

We would be very fortunate to have JVG back.

JVG, Walton, Thib, even Brooks - all of them would be a great step forward for this team.

I don't see Thibs coming here if JVG doesn't... signs would point to Brooks as their backup option.

Walton is a gamble... and all the signs point to it being a bad one (the Rockets don't have GSW-like personnel, and he's a huge question mark with any other team... not to mention, he probably has less experience than JBB has because you have no idea how he's ever handled adversity).

Iggy & Bogut were former franchise players. Bogut might be past it as that kind of player but Iggy still underrated.

There's talk about Barnes being that level of player too.

Sorry but I don't think this group of players is worth saving. It say let them drown.

The culture is toxic and needs a fresh start and don't be surprised if Harden is the part of the problem.

It all comes down to finding someone that Harden will respect and play for. That's not an easy thing to find. Today's superstars view themselves as bigger than the team itself, and really want to control everything.

What would appeal to Gundy about Houston is the possibility of pairing two more max contracts with Harden assuming Dwight opts out. Plus he lives here.

A lot of people here are prisoners of the moment. They are blinded by JVG the color commentator.

JVG the coach was extremely flawed. His offense was UGLY. It's slow paced, ISO basketball. He was obsessed with playing old past their prime vets like Ryan Bowen, weatherspoon, Oakley, ward, Wesley, Barry, sura.

He was not flexible as a coach, and is allergic to offense.

I just find it funny people are actually excited about him, when everyone wanted him gone his first time here.
