Morey's talent is aquiring pieces that fit with our team and getting great value out of them. Going back to the Boston days he is pretty much peerless in aquiring starters and rotational players no matter where he picks. He has pulled a couple of lop sided trades with desperate teams but he is not a svengali. He cannot control where players want to play and he cannot control other teams overpaying for marginal players. I actually think its good that he's not being baited into some awful move that'll end up costing us in the long run.
It looks splashier than it is. Its hurts more how its a player being unavailable to the Rockets, more than it pushes Dallas over any hump. Dallas traded an older expiring for a younger expiring. Besides a couple lobs from Jason Kidd, Chandler offers no offense for the Mavs. No low post presense that they'll need in the playoffs.
They scare me but that's because I can watch them on local TV. Anyway, I'm going to miss watching Dampier intentionally pick up fouls so he could go to the bench...
You do realize that you are talking about the guy who drafted Kwame Brown number 1? Why should this be any more surprising than what he's done in the past?
good trade for mavs. haywood wasnt what they expected last year. so they manage to also get rid of a non performing asset (damp) for a defensive/rebounding big. the big issue of course is chandler's toe. but since he'll be sharing minutes with haywood, it might work out for the short term. as for charlotte, i dont get why they did it. tyson's contract is expiring this year, the same with dampier. najera sucks. and both his and carroll's contract are for the next 2 seasons. i guess they know something about chandler's toe which the mavs do not.
