Charlotte has traded Tyson Chandler and Alex Ajinca to Dallas for Dampier, Matt Carroll and Najera, a league source tells Y! Sports.
Carroll no longer there. Sure they look good on paper but they've looked good on paper for the last 5 years and havent done much.
Deja vu? For some reason this seems all too familiar... everyone gets better, then Morey surprises us and gets best deal at the end. Then all the guys we missed out on end up getting injured or sucking real bad and we laugh about it "Remember when we all wanted so-and-so? So glad that didn't happen!"
So that looks like the same team that lost in the first round last year?? They added Chandler in for Dampier and all of a sudden they are stacked? Same team as last year but a year older. Same story as years past for them, win in the regular season get a top 3 seed and lose in the first or second round.
Honestly guys...unless DM has something major in the works. I am really dissapointed. I know we could have beat dallas and Utahs offers on Chandler and Jefferson. We have assets that we could have used with a 3rd team with cap space or trade exceptions. Looks like we are being outdone right now...missed bosh, missed chandler, missed jefferson (no indications that we were going for him) Brad Miller does not fix our lack of defense and protetction from the rim. Its a waste of money...we need a tyson chandler/Jefferon type. The only thing I can see is that the two teams that went for those guys missed on Gortat and he would be a better fit than both for our team. But will likely cost the most....maybe darrel figured to outbid for those two he could make a similar offer for Gortat...keep us young and add the defensive center we need. I say we us draft pick/J Hill for gortat...J jill looks inable to be back up C so far and looks to behind Pat Pat in talent.
Nice pick up.....however, its going to be interesting to see what happens from here on. This could be dallas' last real run. Butler is expiring. TYson is expiring. Then the following year Kidd and terry expire. Their window is rapidly closing and is no more than 2 yrs right now, possibly one.
but why do you want to be invested in a guy who can "play a little bit" for 3 years and 30 mill? They obviously didnt want that contract. I still dont get the deal completely...i would figure they could get something back a little better..but their motivation seems to be one where they do not take on long term , $10mill/year deals for a player who isnt a game changer.
Upgrade Utah : Lost Boozer, they brought in Jefferson. (Gives Yao fits) Dallas: Added Chandler as a backup, and another 7 footer. They matchup well against the lakers now. Not to mention they kept Dirk, and Haywood Lakers: Added Steve Blake, kept Fisher, and are working on aquiring Bell. Spurs: Signed Splitter to a deal (Very underrated move IMO) No Change Denver, Portland, Houston Downgrade Suns: Lost Amare, but they added Turkoglu, Warrick, Childress. Also retained Frye. This might not be so bad, since they have Nash working the point. I'm not saying we have to make a move, all I meant I didn't expect the top teams in the West to make this many moves. If we retain Scola/Lowry, and sign a backup C, that is a huge upgrade over last years team (with Yao of course).
We should get the twin towers back in action by signing Shaq and letting him start with Yao. That's the only way this team has a prayer in the world of competing with the top teams.
Yeah, you're right. Morey should've traded valuable assets for an oft injured dude with a bad contract? Or maybe an oft injured dude with only one dimension? Or better yet, a dude who makes max money but is nowhere near a max player? Yeah... Morey's crazy alright.
yes, exactly I hope so. Besides the organization is really good with controlling rumors. If we hear a rumor its probably already dead, or a signing would have happened. I expect the same.
