Wow!!! If the Knicks lose out on any FA this summer, simply WOW!!! They put all of their marbles on this FA class. Bright lights of New York. And then they've got room for 2 max level contracts. It would be insane if they stand pat. But, it would be good for the Rockets because that guarantees, the Rockets may pick up a pretty high draft pick next season; and if the growing pain continue, in 2012 too. But, how horrible it would be for Knicks fans? They lose Jordan Hill, draft positions to the Rockets, plus they get no Lebron, Wade, or Bosh.
Wow, why? What did they do (or not do) to get black balled so hard and so soon? (The obligatory "thats what she said") I could easily see the likes of a Boozer ending up on that team and the Knicks being relegated to land of mediocrity. For some reason I see them picking up Elton Brand's contract as well...
welcome to the world of ny: city of big hype, no substance all the hype for the last 2 yrs that theyre gona get Lebron and now when its time to put up or shutup they do the latter.. i cant stand that city
i will need counseling if the rockets keep that pick from next year and it ends up being number one and the rockets lose it. i will become a shell of my former self.
Yep, the knicks have a 25% chance of getting the #1 pick at best. And they'd have to have the worst record in the league to get those odds. Frankly, I'm not too optimistic about this pick. Two years ago they had the #6, last year they had #8, this year they gave Utah the #9. Even after trading all their talent for expiring contracts, they've only gotten better. Surely anyone they get in free agency can only help them?
We can only hope that Daryl Morey will not take the risk and trade the pick away for some good talent.
Maybe. But I don't see David Lee (if he returns) getting significantly better. Also, Al Harrington was no slouch for them last year. He'll be gone. They'll need to get themselves a true PG (Duhon's gone). End of the day, I say that 2011 Knicks pick is in the #6 to #11 range. Although, there's always the chance that the Knicks "win" the lottery and get either #2 or #3. I'll take it.
I wonder for what reasons though? New York have a pile full of money waiting to be eaten up by one of these players. Maybe our chances of a S&T just went up a notch if that's the case.
Their strategy seems so flawed compared to the Bulls. Why would you possibly join that franchise when they haven't proven to have turned ANYTHING around and you'd be joining NO talent. In Chicago, two max free agents can join Rose, Deng and Noah. And in Miami, two max free agents can join Wade and Beasley. But in New York you can join David Lee and Danillo Gallinari? Yeah. I love Morey. Those picks are golden.
I don't remember the details, but I would be very, very surprised if this were the case. That is not how things are done, and I can't for the life of me imagine that DM would agree to such a thing.
i know this is highly unlikely, but imagine if the rockets and knicks met on the final day of the season and a rockets win would give NY the worst record in the league...
They may be shut-out by the big three, but they will get someone with all that money they have to spend.
Then we'd know for sure the Knicks would have no shot at the #1 pick if they secure the worst overall record.
They'll get someone who hopefully doesn't care about winning or his ego because it'll be Max Free Agent who isn't Lebron, so they'll be disappointed with him. And then of course he'll be playing with such stalwarts of the hardwood such as Andy Rautins and Landry Fields.
