He's a very solid scoring / penetrating point guard. But I think they'll have a marginal drop off without him. The biggest issue will be lack of depth if the game turns into run-and-gun.

As I'm born and raised in the USA, I can't 100% predict a French person's cultural tendencies. If there was a first American player that was good at Rugby, Cricket, etc, I'm not kneeling down at his altar. Because that's not the way I think. Plus, I don't just cheer for people who win random pro league championships. Olympics, maybe?

IS Dream bigger than Jordan in Africa? I know Kobe Bryant (of all people) was among the top jersey sales for 10+ years. That's all hype. Jordan is an icon. Parker isn't a hype player, and I didn't know France gave a hoot about the NBA.

While we're at it, I always thought the Jeremy Lin hype was beyond dumb. Is it bad that nationality / race doesn't matter much to me? I like players for their work ethic or what they've done for my favorite teams.
