Hiring Udoka out of misconduct suspension is a nice touch to the Nets Circus, but a RUSS TRADE would bring the house down. Do it Tsai! Get those draft picks back!
Its still very early, the nets are starting to gel and now they have a good coach, Kyrie is going nowhere
That's true. I have no idea what he wants to do. Also, I have no Idea how good or bad of a coach he actually was. IMO he was in an impossible situation.
Keep in mind that when Nash took the job, the only thing Kyrie was dinged for, was leaving a bad taste in Celtics fans' mouths while being vocal about the Earth being flat. I don't think anyone could have predicted Durant being so disagreeable, Harden coming and leaving, and now Kyrie being anti-semitic. And now you have to deal with Ben Simmons' anti-offense game. When Nash took the job, it was the easiest path to a title. HC vacancy + KD/Kyrie in an up-for-grabs East? Raptors didn't have Kawhi any more, the Heat were the EC champs and who knew if Giannis was going to be able to carry? Also, 76ers relied on Simmons and Embiid, at the time. With hindsight, it's easy to criticize Nash. But when Nash took the job in 2020, it was a no-brainer. And even though Kyrie had that quote about not needing a HC, it was essentially true. There's not too many offensive sets you'd need to implement, when you have guys like Kyrie and KD on your team.
Nash was a stand-in for head coach that was handpicked by KD and KI. He's a convenient foil to blame for the clownshow that is the Nets.
They have a lot of role players to work in, they still have KD, they still have Kyrie, Ben Simmons is still working his way back into shape, and Ime Udoka is coming in. Its November and people are drafting headstones because the nets are 2-5 on the second day of November smfh
Y’all acting like Nash was a good or even decent coach. He sucked at his job just like everyone else sucked at theirs in that organization.
[Nets Daily] “a league insider tells NetsDaily that Udoka had repeatedly sent inappropriate messages to women on the Celtics staff.”
Isn't Udoka just suspended? With the 76ers losing 2 draft picks due to tampering, how can the Nets just go after another team's contracted personnel? Is that not tampering? lmao
The Celtics allowed the Nets to talk to Udoka. There's no rules against that for coaches. Props to Nets for having the balls to just fire their underperforming coach when they saw a better one available.
LOL, the Nets are an absolute trainwreck on and off the court mostly for reasons that have nothing to do with Steve Nash. I am of a mind to believe them when they say the parting was mutual - it has been abject misery in Brooklyn for 6 months. Props to the Nets for bringing in another controversial figure who is going to provide even more distractions as a Rockets fan. Hope it doesn't work out for them
@TimBontemps: Sean Marks says both he and Steve Nash agreed it was “time to make a change.” Sean Marks says there was no input from the players. “Steve and I didn’t need that,” Marks said. Marks says Steve Nash wasn’t given a “level playing field” and that he “takes a great deal of responsibility” for how the roster was constructed. Said this isn’t all Steve’s fault. Marks said the discussions with Steve Nash have gone on over the last week-to-10 days. He says, “I don’t think we’ve brought it,” over the course of the first couple weeks of the season. He says the candidates looked at will “have a voice, and hold people accountable.” Sean Marks: “I’m certainly not proud of the situation we are in.”
