$38m per year? Is that right? That's insane.

No offense poster but this isn't news of course he's pursuing a short term offer sheet with the new CBA and max contracts at 30 mil next year he'd be an idiot to sign a long term deal and waste his prime playing for essentially half of what he's worth.
FYI ROCKETS HAVE NO CHANCE AT SIGNING HIM

The Bulls front office is doing its best to pretend Rose-Butler conflict doesn't exist

Jimmy Butler hopes to get short-term deal w/ Lakers, though Bulls will likely match any offer he gets http://t.co/oZiuxJXcDA

I have never seen such an ignorant homer fan base in my life. Why do they think every free agent belongs to us? When was the last time a major free agent chose the Lakers or Clippers for that matter without being drafted by them or traded to them?

That just doesn't seem intelligent for a guy like him that's only had one good year and has missed 20 games each of the last two seasons. His stock is high, and he should take the 5 year max (assuming that it's offered to him).

If there is a rift between Rose & Butler, Butler obviously will be the first to go. Let's be honest who wouldn't want to hoop in L.A & live in that weather.

Butler should sign the QO. Bet on himself again.

He already bet on himself last year. And won. The fo has been lowballing him fired his favourite coach and treated rose too much preferentially (sp?). Besides marky mark has been working on him all year long. Now all he sees is hollywood.

Lol, if it was really only 4 more million... Bulls are a bit more stupid than even I gave them credit for... Now Jimmy can get what he's really worth, especially if he does the short deal and then reups in 2017 for the new cap... Guy is on the rise and will be a special talent, I think he needs to come home :)

Yeah, this isn't bad I mean he'd lose money from a huge max, but **** man if something happens next year... And he can't sign a max on the new offer gotta play it safe sometimes... Of course the other option is just try 2 year max he can get with opt out after first if he can max it, then just get good insurance. I'm sure with good money management he'd be fine regardless... Maybe not 190 million fine, but better than 99%... Man sometimes these guys careers go from breakout to bench... Really just depends, I think he'll be the real deal though..

Yes the difference was only got ne million per year. They are THAT cheap amd thats why they deserve what they get now.

The sound of kirk hinrich picking up his player option is MUSIC to my ears. The bulls are screwed with their cap. Welcome to tax land mr Reindorf.

If the Bulls don't put the 5-year max deal up there, Butler is going to get a 1+1 offer sheet at the max and be able to control his destiny. And that's what it's all about.

He needs to just take the max while he can.
