Okay, this makes a little more sense. Lightly protected although in 2025 is a pretty valuable pick. 34th pick in this draft is much better than a late 2nd round pick that I was assuming. Still feel like OKC could have gotten more for Danny Green and taking on a contract like Horford's. Maybe Presti felt bad about the Westbrook/Paul trade although the Harden trade still tips the scales in Morey's favor.

no those are not worthless. especially when down the road they can use the boatload of them in a trade if need be. people need to stop assuming these picks are bad. You just literally witnessed Portland get RoCo for late picks. They are not worthless

Come on .. big fan of Morey but some of you are going overboard with praises. Did you really put Green and shooting in the same sentence? Only thing this move accomplishes is getting rid of Horford terrible contract.

They gave up a 2025 pick. Isn't that bad for a potential Simmons trade to us?

    ?

    Last 4 years 36, 38, 46, 37 % from 3 on about 5 attempts per game.

We would have killed for a guy like that in our rotation.

I mean, like you said, Anderson was a mediocre monodimensional player paid 20M per season, Horford is a good all around player paid 27M per season...if you consider the salary cap now is also around 10M higher than few years ago, we're pretty much talking about the same amount of money but for a player that they might possibly trade again for something decent.

I guess the price for Green was that 2nd rounder, which isn't much, i can agree with this, but still, not even bad, an early 2nd is almost a 1st afterall but cheaper.

Maybe Morey also had other options and Presti had to settle, i don't know, but the more i see it the more it seems like a solid trade for both teams imo.

Huh? Green is literally a year younger than Horford, not sure what "youth" the team added.

Crazy that Horford a year ago was one of the best non superstar big men around now he is treated as hot trash and got traded for Danny Green and picks.

I think his value just tanked cuz they got so many non shooters. In a year OKC can flip him again for even more picks.

I was thinking the same, still, if they trade Simmons, Thybulle, Richardson and all the other picks (21/23/27) and swap the others...whatever, i guess.

not sure where the positive energy on this deal is for DM.

He had to give away picks to get rid of a contract.

that's exactly what sucked about him here... be it ownership reasons or otherwise.

And, btw, Horford was overpaid, and not the best best fit on that squad, but not horrible.

Most of all though... one step closer to no Harden to Philly deal, since they are unloading picks.
