Health is the obvious key. But also, his 32.4% career 3's is a bit better than Brick's 30.5%. If he can nudge that up to 34% or so, that might be enough to make other teams guard him at the 3 pt line.
Even though wall has been out for two years Wall is a better 3 point shot. And his passing is alot better
what an awful trade. i'd rather go into the season with russ than take this. both the wizards and us don't even know what kind of player wall is anymore. so much for the rafael stone hype.....
Lots of questions. My guess: I think the FO knows this is it for Harden (probably is not expecting him to re-sign next offseason and is not willing to bet on him signing an extension after his contract is over) and is trying to assemble a team that will be somewhat competitive but also put them in position to rebuild effectively next year if Harden chooses not to re-sign (or if we're having a subpar season and a suitor comes along with a can't-pass-up package). Basically, this is trying to delicately balance between staying effective with a new cast and building assets for a future without Harden. The biggest loss to me here is in the locker room. Russ is a leader in the locker room, well liked, and the only guy who can talk to Harden (though maybe not?). Wall not only doesn't have that demeanor, but combined with Boogie and others will create a chaotic locker room atmosphere that could easily implode if things start going south.
Unbelievably awful trade. I was waiting to see if they revealed more players and picks. One protected lotto pick in 2023. Unreal, traded WB for a player - WHEN healthy in his prime was less efficient, had a lower ceiling then WB, who just happens to have not played more then half a season in 4 years, hasn’t played a single game in 2 years, whom had an achilies tear. Under contract 3 more seasons for 45 mill per. Stone sucks, or Tilman/Harden just ****ed us again.
That's why they added a pick. We know Russ is better than Wall, but Westbrook wanted out and asked/demanded a trade.
I get what you're saying and i don't really know what was the right thing to do here, but i still think it won't matter in a year anyway so, at least we got a pick Spoiler ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is he? Westbrook is a terrible defender, he cannot shoot and he had an attitude last year. There is a reason everyone good that plays with him doesn’t Stay.
