yeah, if they weren't guarding them then cp3 would have been double teamed yet, he never saw a double team?
He actually displays a lot of classic floor generalship qualities, and he is a stud defender when healthy. I think you guys that haven’t watched him will be impressed by his extremely high basketball IQ.
Feel bad for James. His last few years of his prime are going to go to waste playing for an owner who is just full of stupid. No shot in hell at a ring. It’s a bummer.
The Rockets floor keeps dropping lower while its ceiling keeps going higher. Boom or bust team if I ever saw one.
This trade really baffled me. If the Rockets want to win now Why don't trade him for an inferior version of Westbrick that hasn't played basketball in 2 years. We should know by now that these athletic ball dominant guard dont work next to Harden. If the Rockets want to rebuild An injury prone player with a top 3 worst contract in the NBA + a protected first is the best we got? I know Westbrick's value is low but goddam.
Better defender Slightly better shooter Better passer Not a Russ level athlete, especially post Achilles. Slower pace I hope he’s better off ball than Russ was...that’s what doomed that pairing.
Westbrook was a bad fit that wasn’t going to get better. Also, nobody was going to beat your door down with great offers to acquire him either. He had to go. Is it a bad trade? Yes and no. It’s a bad trade, but one that obviously had to happen sooner or later. I don’t think the Rockets were going to get any much better offers under the circumstances, and the experiment with Westbrook had basically run its course. It is what it is. Time to move on.
AGAIN FOR THE LAST TIME!!!! DARYL MOREY DID NOT WANT TO TRADE CHRIS PAUL FOR RUSSELL WESTBROOK!!! TILMAN FERTITTA FORCED DARYL MOREY TO MAKE THE TRADE!!
Quick thoughts: Rockets get the inferior player, hopefully, Wall is at least 75% of what he was as his injury history coupled with his playstyle... This team better get off to a quick start or it's going to get ugly real fast which is not good for anyone not named Harden Westbrook the player is one thing but the person at least up until this point came across to me as someone who is/was loyal and would give you everything he had each and every game, so the fact he was willing to not show up to training camp or play seems so out of character for him, that sounds like something Marbury, Vince Carter or T-Mac would have done Excited to see if Christian Wood builds off of his late-season stretch
