we don't need a holiday or bledsoe level player for $40 million a year. we needed the killer cp3 we saw in 2018 and he wasn't it, which is why we're in this situation in the first place. chris paul balls out and plays like a superstar in the playoffs = we never trade for westbrook. just like if westbrook balled out and played like a superstar in the playoffs = we never trade for wall.
Washington Fans to us: Get used to seeing Wall in a suit Our fans to Washington Fans: Get used to seeing one rock the baby per night from Russ after he bricks the other 25/30
Can we stop with this hindsight "I'm a superior rockets fan/b-ball IQ' bs. Maybe you were saying all this all along, I don't know. But most of the people acting like CP3 was some no brainer perfect complement to Harden after the 2019 season are full of ****. All people could talk about is how we were stuck with his untradable contract and our championship window had passed us behind. The man couldn't get past Jonas Jerebko in isolation. Then CP3 turns around and reverts to his 2018 self out of nowhere and all the Captain Hindsights act like they knew that was going to happen all along. Come on man.
yeah, our best player dragged poor playing players to wins. like we've seen him do his entire career. he just needs his number 2 to play like a superstar as well, like what lebron had in AD. we just haven't got that in 2 years. i loved this guy
Still a gamble... I think a healthy Wall is overall better than a healthy WB. Rockets in a tough spot with WB... they either wanted to get a player to compete with harden or make up lost ground with picks. I initially didn’t like this but am coming around to it. It’s been so long since we’ve seen Wall, you forget he was a really good player. Probably get that pick next year.
I think i see the pattern. Stone is chasing after players with no Achilles or ACL. Is Klay Thompson next?
yeah notice how the surrounding players in that one are so much better than the scrubs in 2019. but hey the casuals don't get that part
Is this true? Can this be backed up with data/analytics? I felt like this was true but also curious how the team did when Harden was off the court and Westbrook was on.
Why trade cp3 then? When healthy we were dominant. cp3 got hurt next year too and the 2019 playoffs were a disappointment. Harden, Morey, Tilman whichever one didn’t like an injured player so we traded cp3 and multiple draft picks for a healthy slasher, now we trade that healthy guy who had great stats prior to the bubble for wall who’s playstyle is similar to Westbrook but hasn’t played in 2 years because of major injuries. Don’t make any sense too me what the rockets have in mind right
