In this scenario, Clippers are rumored to disband their franchise in 2014. - Sources

Let McHale leave and bring back Rick the Ruler. That man deserves a final shot at an NBA title.

The LOFer's all faint at once.

Seriously though, why in the world would McHale just up and leave the Rockets right now at this point to go to a team that is on the cusp of a full blown rebuild? Because he was a Celtic back in the day? Because he wants his legacy in that building tarnished?

Do you really think Larry Bird never had a chance to coach or GM the Boston Celtics? McHale will probably never go back to the Celtics as either a coach or GM for very, very good reasons.

If we trade Asik to the Celtics, I want Jeff Green in return. He would make us unguardable playing the 4.

Thats why I posted it. They seemed to glean something from it that is either wrong, or something the rest of us dont know yet.

Might this be a favor leaked by Ainge (or planted by DM the GM) to Woj to heighten perception of KMc in any FA eyes? ;)

If the Celtics are looking to rebuild, why would they give us Jeff Green? He's one of the guys they'd be rebuilding around.

Because we would give them Asik. I know they wouldnt, but that is the only player I want from them.

Now that Morey knows he can trade coaches, this is all part of his plan to flip McHale for Popovic.

Nowhere did I see where McHale was trying to get out of his contract. Woj just said the Rockets wouldn't let McHale go regardless. Most likely it was the other way around with the Celtics contacting McHale.

It wouldn't make any sense to me right now why McHale would want anything to do with running the Celtics, and tarnishing his legacy there in Boston... Especially with the Summer the Rockets have lined up.

What? That makes no sense. Pierce will make $15m and Asik+Robinson about $11m. We still get the cap hit if we buy Pierce out. So, we'd destroy $4m in cap space for the privilege of giving Asik and Robinson to the Celtics and Pierce to the Clippers -- and paying Pierce his salary to boot? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.
