That's fair. I'll add that I spent the bulk of last year praising his ability to space the floor and the importance of it in our wins. But man, by the end of the playoffs I just couldn't make any more excuses. Ryan Anderson was a consistently bad basketball player last season and probably Daryl Morey's worst signing.
1. Being snobbish when you are so wrong makes you look even more dumb, just FYI. 2. Considering that it was such a big deal and much discussed, yes you should have remembered.
1. I won't further entertain this. 2. I don't and I'm totally okay with that. Who the hell cares about the Pelicans?
I can't agree that he was our worst signing. We were such a good team on a bounce back year last year and Ryan Anderson was 5th on the team in win shares, 2nd in OBPM, third in ORTg. He had his struggles to be sure. His home issues killed us in games and his playoff performance was bad, but again, sample size issues. He has had good playoff runs before in New Orleans so I don't see any reason to say he just can't play in the playoffs or he shrivels under pressure like people so often do when someone has a bad 9 game stretch.
So when is the Hardaway presser? With no other news forthcoming I'm looking forward to ClutchFans dissecting that like it's a fetal pig and you all are a 9th grade biology class.
I'm okay to go on with Anderson, but Knicks are not okay to go on with Melo, so I don't know how long they can hold off. I mean Cavs are not offering jack s***.
7 hours ago – via YouTube Ian Begley: I’m told Carmelo Anthony is confident a deal with get done at this point with Houston. Trade, Carmelo Anthony, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks So Melo knows it? Why don't we know it!!!!?!?!?!
But 20 million a year for 4 years. I know everybody went crazy last offseason, but we're already seeing that it wasn't the new norm and that those contracts were all, in fact, bad contracts. The only thing positive I will say about it is that winning 55 games definitely made it possible to get CP3. So I suppose from that standpoint it was worth it.
Melo vs. Ryno on Catch & Shoot 3pt (2014-2017): Melo: .404 3P% -- 3.2 attempts Ryno: .395 3P% -- 5.2 attempts Ryno was a joke in the playoffs but he is a legitimately dangerous 3pt weapon. His spacing was an important part of Harden thriving this year. But Melo is just as good, if not better, as a catch and shoot 3pt shooter. This is exactly the area that "Olympic" Melo is dominant at. I really hope this goes down. He can be even better than Anderson at what Ryno does best (catch&shoot), while also having the ability to put the ball on the floor with a pump fake + the ability to post-up smaller defenders. And as bad of a defender as he is, he's still more mobile than Ryno.
