Tweet deleted but said "Today is the deadline for exercising all remaining options, if you couldn't already tell. (If an option isn’t exercised, it has effectively been declined.) Tomorrow is the deadline for extending qualifying offers to players who can be made restricted free agents."

My biggest concern is Chris Paul, if he was still the player he was two years ago, if you can add a solid MLE player i think the Rockets coul still compete for win it all, but if Chris Paul is the player we saw last season, or even worse, i'm not sure how we'll come out of the West. Sure, we can add a MLE guy, but that has to be a solid signing, which isn't a given, and even if that happens our bench as today is literally Nene, Hartenstein and Clark, there's no guaranteed depth, Gerald will be back i guess, but we need more. Hopefully Hartenstein and Clark will step up and maybe Ponds will be a surprise, i like their potential but we need them to be able to contribute from the go.

    Midnight.

He won't opt in. He's very likely going to sign the 5 year max with Philly.

my biggest concern is harden. he's a bright guy and knows very well what management did last year exhausting all available assets to get under the taxline. he turns 30 in 2 months and it's not going to take him long to realize this ship is going nowhere and his legacy is in jeopardy of sinking as well. how long before he politely requests a trade outta landryville?

Personally i'm not concerned about that, cause Harden is treated like a king here, and i don't see many situations better than this one available out there...unless he wants to pull a Durant and join Lebron or Durant/Kawhi in L.A or NY when he'll be close to expiring, if that happens and we won't have a chip it would suck, but life goes on and i'm actually intrigued at the idea of watching Morey work on a rebuild (assuming Tillman allows that of course), Sam did a terrific job in Philly.

i'm concerned because somebody who spends his entire summer every summer working on the slightest details to get even the slightest advantage come regular season -- imo has a lot of pride in his craft. i don't think he's going to stay quiet and end his career without a ring no matter how well he's treated. i don't think he's going to complain to the media or sit out games, but he will lobby for a trade behind the scenes

Not sure if he’ll lobby for a trade. But definitely could see him just playing his contract out. He’s never been a true free agent so I can see him wanting that experience.

I mean, if it happens it happens, if we would end up in that scenario it would mean this core was just not good enough to win, sucks, but there's no magic, you either win or not, and only one team per season does.

He’s a free agent in 4 years lmao.. step off of the ledge. You guys talk about how you set your expectations low so you won’t be disappointed and then proceed to panic the day before free agency

    Y’all need to chill out

I’m not panicking about Harden. Like I said...he’s got a ways to go.

I am concerned about Morey, he hasn't rebuild from scratch in a long time.

I’m more concerned with Morey getting poached by another team than Morey’s ability to build up a team.

The only reason that Portland was better was because we had so many injuries and they got swept by Golden state without Durant.

We have beaten Utah in 5 games twice.

You also act like we can't add talent and be a better team.

I guess you just like doom and gloom.

Not concerned with either Paul or Harden. If Paul has slipped then Harden has improved from MVP level.

If Paul just needs more time to get to 100% from hammy injury then he should be back to his first year production this season.

Either or, Rockets will not have regressed this season. Should still be the best backcourt in NBA.

Chris will return to form this season. He spent all last summer trying to rehab his hamstring. He will be in better shape going into the season. Especially considering his age. He won’t make the same mistake twice.
