I'll tell you, Kobe is one of the most mentally tough individuals when it has to do with nothing but himself. Anything outside of that bubble, he is a 13-year old kid with loads of insecurities.

its like people forget about the demands to go to chicago and only if deng was playing with him. Why did making a basketball decision in the best interest of kobe not warrant the same kind of butthurtness that they are giving dwight?

Haha I was thinking that too. Also I guess averaging 6 assists per game last season is pretty selfish as well.

We all know, if Kobe wanted MDA fired...MDA would have been fired. Kobe was alright with the signing, Kobe WANTED Phil sure, but he also made it known that MDA would be alright.

I bet Kobe wasn't all for getting rid of MDA, MDA is going to let that guy hoist and how can he not love that?

No offense, but I don't think you've read many of Woj's 'opinion' pieces.

This. He's one of the best when it comes to the facts of wheeling and dealing, who's getting moved next and when.

But his speculative articles are nothing short of drama queen. And I'm not saying this just because it's on a current Rocket, I'd said it many times before on other random articles mentioned in the Dish.

BTW, what he said about Dwight, needing to be acknowledged as the face of the franchise, coddled, etc. You can say the exact same thing about Kobe. He's chased two top NBA centers away from the Lakers for that reason.

This article is spot on...Dwight wants to be the man, and he has to deliver...the city of Houston is starving for a chance at another title. And in 3-4 years, Dwight must lead us to at least one. That is ultimately the bottom line. This team, his desire to win all has to culminate to winning titles. That is really the only stick a player is measured from once his career in the NBA is complete. The HOF without a ring will tell you this very truth.

Dwight can not be the best big man in the game till he delivers in that regards. Teams with a dominant big man have always found a way to win a title. Howard has the stats, the DPOYs, and stature as the best big in the game today. If he doesnt win with the Rockets, his career is done and on the line. No more blaming the coaches. No more blaming teammates. He chose this city based off the chance to win. He must deliver. In his era(Duncan, KG, Shaq, and even Pau has delivered). For Dwight and his legacy, it is title or bust! And I believe the Rockets are his last chance.

Yeah, me too. Still shock that we landed him. I love him. We should show what Houston is all about and he will love it here.

    Lets go Houston!

Kobe was the most spoiled b**** in sport history before Shaq and Phil and Stern gave him 5 rings. Now everyone believes he is the icon of bball as well as the toughest guy in the world, so does he. Certainly he has the authority to take away the coddle from Howard.

Kobe is alright with Mike because Kobe is the de facto coach. Whatever he says goes. He overrode MDA last season, telling the team and the media that they were going to play slow ball and then that is what they did. MDA was just a suit with a first-class seat at the arena.

They did not MDA's system. And they're not going to play MDA's system this year. MDA is just a check collector basically doing nothing with that team right now except collaborate with Jim Buss on who to acquire in the future. It's never going to work.

Good article. If Kobe hears everything, how come no one hears about how big of a ball hog he is and that his ego is super inflated?

Too self-centered, he can only hear what he wants to hear.
