I haven’t seen anything about his health or conditioning. Other than some pics where he looks to have dropped 10-15 pounds (which isn’t uncommon for players in their 30s). I guess that’s a good thing? Still seems like a rather large assumption that he’s a full time player. Jock Landale has pretty much played well everywhere but here too. Maybe it’s a matchup thing? Landale is certainly not in the bruiser category. I would definitely most like to see Adams when we’re facing those supersized lineups and centers though. Take some of the physical load off Sengun playing defense, even if it means subbing him out of a starting 5 run and letting him feast on a backup. I think Ime wore his ass out even before January, so maybe that helps a bit? Jabari may get some reps too at the 5. Stretch those defenses out. I feel like we’ve got 1 legit option and 3 half options. An injured vet, a journeyman and a lightweight small ball option. idk that’s it’s a strength but it’s certainly a mile ahead of the last few seasons.
I'd like to see that. He already likes to grind on the Offensive side. He applies that same grittiness on the Defensive side and we got a perennial All-Star.
how come the rox were able to trade for an injured player? i tried doing that several times on 2k and it wouldn't allow me. is real life a cheat code?
If you make that saying as a refrigerator magnet, aging millennials brehs and brehzaphines will buy them and you can retire young.
Unlike guys like Dillon Brooks and Pat Beverley, Steven Adams is a villain without being a villain, if you know what I mean. People are just quietly scared of him but never complain that he's dirty or out of control. That's the kind of guy I want on my team.
Low key this has always annoyed the crap out of me on 2K. It should affect their trade value negatively but shouldn't be just completely disallowed
i read this often. We know Draymond punked him multiple times, but that’s Draymond. However, recall when freaking NICK YOUNG smashed him in the face after a screen and Adams did what he does….nothing? I am 100% sure the guy is immensely strong and isn’t scared of ****. I’m also not sure he’s a fighter as much as he is a stoic intimidating presence. He breaks up fights just fine; I’m not sure that’s scary tho - quiet or otherwise.
Y’all are too funny, acting like Steven Adams is going to come here and transform the team. Are there any workout videos? Any proof he has touched a basketball since we got him? Salary matching will be his greatest contribution to the team.
Having a solid backup to Sengun all year, should have a positive impact to the team whether it is Landale or Adams. Either or both are also positive contracts that could be useful to the team. More than half the year, we were terrible when Sengun sat. Is he a savior, no, but he was a really good add.
Odd thing, the Rockets typically outplayed other teams when Sengun sat. This shouldn't be seen as a slight to Sengun as it is mostly because the Rockets bench was better than the opposing bench moreso than the Rockets starting lineup versus the other team’s starting lineup. Adding Adams should make a plus even better. If memory serves, the Rockets were better for the first month or so with Sengun when Sengun was just destroying teams and likely just before he got hurt when Jalen Green just went off. Other than that, Tari and Amen just destroyed other teams in small ball lineups a lot except for January when Tari was hurt, the whole team stunk, and Amen was still being used a lot as a guard.
