Thing is the hard cap is 80.8 million right now.

Here's my trade idea that works underneath the hard cap.

    - match Parsons
    - trade Asik to the Pelicans for 2015 first and Jeff Withey
    - trade Lin, Motiejunas and future pick to 76'ers for future 2nd and cash considerations.
    - trade Casspi and Powell, multiple future picks to Miami for Chris Bosh (starting salary 20 million)

Re-sign Troy Daniels (1.5 million) and sign rookies Nick Johnson and K.J McDaniels with MLE.

Sign Jameer Nelson and Francisco Garcia with veteran minimums.

    Beverley/Nelson/Canaan
    Harden/Daniels/Johnson
    Parsons/Garcia
    Bosh/Jones/Covington
    Howard/Withey

This teams salary is exactly 80.8 million, next year the hard cap will raise to 85 million and we will have breathing room.

Woops scratch that, I thought about adding him to the trade with Philly but we couldn't afford him.

The cap rise is just speculation?

Hard cap isn't triggered until you use the MLE -- it's not just in place. Brooklyn exceeded the "hard cap" last year.

Yeah I know lol, still the roster I posted would be at 80.8 million, that is the hard cap. McDaniels would cost 850k or something like that, we wouldn't be able to sign him.

Unless we traded/cut one of Covington or Canaan. I don't think we can afford to cut Covington because if there is a injury in the front court depth at the 4 would be necessary. If there is a Injury at point, depth would also be necessary, but maybe Johnson can be both the third string point as well as shooting guard. So maybe trade Canaan and bring in McDaniels?

No, I did not say they would AGREE to go to Minnesota.

One more and you're on ignore.

Nice didn't know this, so we wouldn't we have to use our MLE so sign a 2nd pick once we're deep into the luxury tax? We can just sign 2nd round picks flat out? We can also sign as many player to veteran minimum past the hard cap as we want to fill out the roster?

Morey should have explored all options because this deal should have been done already. Same with Lin, I really do not understand keeping either one any longer than we have to. Both want to.be gone! They are done with Morey and the Rockets.

Is that a promise  ? Perhaps you don't understand the CBA, but while u may not have said the word agree, you certainly implied it since Deng and pau would have to agree to any snt trade to Minnesota.

Okay guys. I was doing some forum searching tonight. They have their own little insider over at Pelicansreport.com (which I might say is the second best team forum I have come across).

    He posted this cryptic message.

He says we will know on Monday at midnight, so I guess we should know what's going on by Monday.

    td - 6, xp - 1
    td xp - 7
say it three times = 21
    say "repeat" 21*2 = 42

    I think, ha.

    7 7 7 = 21

    Repeat

    21+21=42
