    Yes.

1-3 or 20-30: It stays with the Pelicans in 2015.

    4-19: It goes to Houston.

    Great trade. GREAT.

And lets not forget that the Lowry pick was pretty much the one key asset that intrigued Presti the most in the Harden trade. This Asik pick has pretty much the same lure to it that a GM should be foaming in the mouth for although slightly less given how the Pelles are going to project as a slightly better team than Toronto was going to be projected two years ago & the pick can go up to 19 instead of 14.

Morey isn't getting nearly enough credit for his creativity in trading picks. The pick protection scheming is pretty damn genius.

Wow that is a steal for us. Didn't know Asik could net us this high of a pick. You see this pick being used to dump Lin?

Doesn't this give the Rockets an 8.3 TPE?

I agree. It's very possible, in my opinion.

Yep. Another weapon to use in a potential trade for one of the mega stars.

Yep and with the west being SO deep, it's probably a guaranteed lottery pick.

Unless they, A- Win the lottery or B - beat out all of the teams below...

    San Antonio
    Oklahoma City
    Clippers
    Houston
    Portland
    Golden State
    Memphis
    Dallas
    Phoenix

So highly likely it's a lottery pick.

So who is your guess for the rockets in FA?

Personally it would be Kevin Love for me. I think Carmelo just an innate desire to play in a big city. And for some reason Houston isn't big enough for him. Just my guess.

I'm a little confused... If it is 1-3 or 20-30, then the Pelicans keep it in 2015, but we get their 2016 1st round pick?

Do we really have to give up a potential #4 just to trade Lin? That sucks

I lie this alot as a backup plan. Sounds doable, too.

Cant speak for Clutch's opinion but I would hope the Rockets wouldn't have to give up that great of an asset to dump Lin when they probably don't have to right now.

My guess is this pick would be used in a larger package for that star player or not used at all in a trade. I do NOT think they would use it as a cap clearing pick(would prefer multiple 2nd rounders, or at worst their own 1st) when they don't yet have anyone committed & lets face it, they are still a long shot away from using it on someone that is worth that pick.

Right now the Rockets could turn around and sign a player for around 9 million, resign Parsons, use the mid-level, keep Lin as a 6th man, and next year look forward to bringing in a lottery level talent.... all the while continuing to develop all of their other youngsters.

    THAT IS WORST CASE SCENARIO.

Best case scenario.... let your imagination run wild.

The Pelicans aren't going to suck that bad.
I see them finishing 10th or 11th in the conference, maybe even 9th.

Wow. I liked Omer. This trade makes the Pelicans a very strong team I reckon.

I dont think they had a centre of any note before and now they do!

I think it was a mistake trading to a team in the same division (!).

I would have thought there'd be no problems getting someone to take on Omer.

    Lin next I guess.

    Where to I wonder.

Maybe, maybe no. If their key players stay healthy, there's a decent chance that they squeeze into the playoffs, but what makes the pick tantalizing is that things could also go south for NOLA, and that pick could end up being a high lottery pick next year. That greatly increases the pick's trade value. It's really another stroke of genius from Mr. Morey.
