we used the pick they sent us to get sengun. That counts for a lot IMO

On the flip side, we keep Westbrook, he likely is able to make us good enough to be a play-in team, and we end up with a tradeable Westbrook that we can trade for decent pieces that does not help our team in the future, but I guess we end up with the 18th pick in the draft.

Grass is not always greener. Yeah, John Wall's contract sucks, but whatever, we were able to use the pick we acquired in that trade to get Sengun and we also were terrible enough to land the 2nd pick in the draft.

I know people are down on Green right now, but give him some time, he definitely has potential to be a very good player, not sure if he will be an all time great, but we have the time to find out for now.

Players getting paid and not playing, that shouldn't be the new standard.

    He should definitely consider retiring.

The NBA should think about lending players to other teams. It has done good for soccer.

I would like to see an economics paper calculating the financial value of high NBA draft picks, based on how much money teams like the Rockets are willing to pay players to sit out. Both from a loss-accumulation standpoint and a rookie-development standpoint.

I mean they could play him and expect insurance company to pay him after all but they don't want to force him, they want to tank and they want to let young guys grow so right move. But if they gonna spend their cap on guys like Thesis then lol

We should have kept Westbrook last year and make him play for us. I do not know why but with the same amount of yearly salary Westbrook is more tradeable than Wall

I mean... it's seems completely mutual by both parties. Odd situation.

Wall seems content with sitting out plus the money or thinks he can get his money and a new contract. On the other hand Rockets have this season and next before OKC starts getting our own pick so developing KPJ into a point guard works out.

A loan system in the NBA would be interesting.

This is usually for younger talents that need to be developed and get more minutes.

I could see a team like the lakers perennially loaning a has been star for a % of their contract though.

If he's not traded by the deadline, I hope they reconsider playing him, if the Rockets are still on pace to be the worst freaking NBA team ever.

To date, worst winning percentage team ever was coached by Paul...Silas.

If the goal was $91M in dead money to acquire the tank commander vs trading Westbrook for multiple more tradeable and/or useful players, you got your wish.

yup, most important thing these couple seasons is developing young guys and being as bad as possible. Again, you couldn't foresee the lakers making an idiotic trade, though i have zero interest in any of those players since they are in direct opposition to what's best for the franchise
