    Big mistake.

The longer Wall does not play the more irrelevant he becomes in the
    eyes of other GM's/ teams.

Last memory of Wall was of a ball hog with little elevation in his lift
during takeoff while absorbing only a little contact.

If he made a deal with Tilman to pay thru seasons end Wall will then forego
his final season (opt out of player option), then he is screwing himself.

Faried wishes people didn't remember the last memory of him in the league.

***Special Thanks to @i3artow i3aller for the new suit. #notworthy #amazing***

So who's idea was it in the first place? Was Wall wanting the easy paycheck from the off, or did we tell him he's benched and now he's not interested either?

Assistant coach Wall is not at practice, because he is in the video room cutting films for the next game. He sees Silas moping in the corner, while Weaver and Hornacek are playing hacky-sack in the rec room. Diop is trying to boost morale by doing early Christmas decorations. Diop is tall and can put up the festive lights. Higgins is trying to find the perfect wooden chair for Christian to "pretend" sit while he practices his free throw. John Lucas is busy updating his résumé because there's too many enrollments to the John Lucas University.

Most likely it was a standoff

Fertitta: I'll let you play for another team if you agree to a buyout at a significant discount
Wall: How about I let you play with my nuts for a slightly less discount
Fertitta: Okay..how about you just stay home and play with your own nuts

    Nah that's wrong.

It's possible to be unhappy not playing (which is really just human nature - getting paid to do nothing sucks because doing nothing SUCKS. THat's why prisoners work in the laundry or whatever, it's just human nature to want to do SOMETHING)

    AND

to also decide to suck up the humiliation and frustration in exchange for $90 million or whatever he's owed.

Players generally want to play - he's been doing it his whole life, it's got to be pretty frustrating unless he's just given up on basketball.

If I am the NBA, I am coming down hard on the Rockets - Wall is healthy he should be playing.

There is zero reason not to have him help teach our young guys.

This is blatantly in your face tanking - the NBA should not allow it.

i don't think so. Not with what we know about John Wall. If he is truly unhappy, he has no problem making that known. Never has. If he was really unhappy he'd give up a few mill and just move on instantly. But as of now he's sitting pretty with no wear and tear on his body and achilles. All while getting super max. He also knows this team won't be winning much at all so why waste his time on the floor, and risk further injury for a team playing for nothing but the next draft

It'll be interesting to see what kind of market he has come Summer 2023 as a 33-year old free agent. If he doesn't play most of next year that doesn't give potential suitors/teams a lot to go by in terms of health, remaining skills, etc. Could he get a deal close to the MLE? Would it be more in line with the vet min?

by that time he would have racked up $80+ mil barely playing. and he would be like 33/34 years. He'll be the epitome of a ring chaser at whatever cheap cost
