Honestly you can kick rocks. That guy has been one of the greatest Rockets role players of all times. I am an actual pacifist but had you said this in front of me I would slap fight you.

But he deserves to be freed from this rebuild. The dude is turning what? 36 this year? Literally might be his last chance to have anything to offer to a contender. And on top of all of that WE DO NOT NEED HIM AT ALL FOR ANYTHING!

    FREE PJ!

Shocked? no. Disappointed? most definitely, I thought PJ was more professional than this...

I agree that this league is a joke regarding what is acceptable behavior... As i posted earlier, the Players union needs to get up in the middle of all this noise and put the kabosh on guys (not just PJ per se) not wanting to honor their contract... If on the flipside, a team decided they werent gonna pay a player (for reasons outside of those stipulated in the contract) then all hell would break loose... contracts that are entered into by both sides with eyes wide open, proper representation and without duress should be honored - period - by both sides.

The argument of whether or not it is in line with the 'industry standard' of the NBA, doesnt hold water with me - the contract is the bottom line in most every other profession (or endure the financial ramifications of not upholding that contract). If the contract isnt gonna be honored - and there are no ramifications - then it appears to me that contracts only ever benefit 1 side in the NBA - and that aint right.

But if the league wants to go on saying 'oh well... thats just how it is...' then the product suffers, and I, as a consumer, am not pleased with that... Of course, there are many things about the NBA I am not pleased with... which brings me back to my initial point - that this league is a joke - and this just one of the most recent examples.

and just for the record... I got no problem with PJ sitting... he's not really contributing, we are tanking and probably better to bubble wrap him and wait for a trade anyway rather than risk 'injury'... my issue is with the way this has all transpired. I wasn't happy when Blames pulled this happy horse sh*t - and I'm sure as hell not on board when a rank and file guy like PJ feels empowered to pull this crap!

If he doesnt get dealt and wanted to raise hell the day after the trade deadline - fine... but this is just him showing his ass just a couple weeks before a probable resolution - and that is not a good look and I expected better of him... my bad for not being a better judge of character i guess...

What are you talking about? If a dude doesnt play, he will forfeit play. Thats how it works.

i presume you meant forfeit pay... do you know this for a fact? My understanding is NBA contracts cannot be abridged - without being fined or bought out... for example, guys arent allowed to restructure deals...

I doubt he is being take hostage, that was what I was saying.

The deal didn't happen yet for some reason.

Okay, I will as soon as I become an NBA player on an expiring deal near the trade deadline.

I have to assume you aren’t naive enough to think that your job is like the job of an NBA player.

No I mean if you forcibly sit out, you will not be paid. Thats how it works. Why do you think Harden even played ANY games for us?

Tucker, Victor, and Ben to the Lakers for Kuzma.
Victor resigns with Lakers no brainer.
Kuzma can play the 4 and the 3 spot in the front court.

It's turned out one of our better teams was chockful of whiny/manipulative crybabies who don't care what they do to the organization.

yes... that what i corrected... u initially said if he didnt play then he would lose play... which i presumed was an error...

and yes, if he forcibly sat out - then he would be fined and lose pay... but if both sides have mutually agreed to him sitting out - then i think he's still getting paid... not sure thats whats happening - but thats my understanding... if I'm incorrect anyone can please let me know...

So Stone had the option of letting PJ go home and sit out while getting paid... or letting his bad attitude exist within the ranks - just like what went down with Hard-on... or blow the crap up even more by fining him and letting both sides look like even bigger jokes than they already do...

Personally, I would hope that they could've come to agreement to sit him - without sending him home... If he's still getting paid - let him be a cheerleader and send the message to the rest of the league that PJ is the professional he's been touted as and we're simply not risking a potential injury when he's about to be dealt - and our fo isnt fully dysfunctional... but that didnt happen...

If we are using your worth $1 idea then the math would be he overplayed his deal by 25 million over 4 years. Which for a team that was penny pinching and not going over the luxury tax was huge.

    “worth” 57,000,001
    Minus actual salary 32,000,000
    = + ~25,000,000

My post was only a comment agreeing on the parts that I bolded from the post I quoted. Tucker far outplayed his contract with us.

    Yes, I meant pay.

Sure, so there is nothing going on wrong here.

Why would you want him to play 2 more weeks where he could get injured and lose all of this trade value? As far as Im concerned, he's exceeded his contract and has not acted unprofessional at all. He deserves his pay and has no gotten it and no longer wants to be here. He wanted decency and loyalty after being underpaid and did not get it.

i didnt want him playing - i wanted him bubble wrapped... my concern is how it transpired and potentially hurting his value by showing his ass... see the last paragraph of the post you are replying to...

It is essentially the same thing. Teams are not going to offer more or less based on this situation. Its already been out there that he is unhappy with his payment situation(rightfully so). He's not going to buy out his already lowball contract to get paid less elsewhere.

We hope good players shake loose every year.

This year we could be the team letting them go vs picking them up .

I hope Stone has some plans and gets value/players for any guys that move . Buyout might be nice to the player , but it wouldn’t help the team as much as a trade

Trade deadline is the 25th right?

Why rush into a deal? Sit PJ and let the bidders bid. Patience is key to the best deal right now.

This place feels apocalyptic every day that there hasn't been a move made... ummmm, try waiting? The 25th is the key date
