And they went downhill from there. The more the relied on Rondo, the worse they got. Tell me you can see that.

I know Harden is great and everything, but do we want him to be the only creator on the team? Does nobody remember the playoffs? We NEED a second facilitator for when teams overload on Harden. Not saying Rondo is the perfect fit with his shooting woes and all but just because a player handles the ball on offense doesn't mean he's a bad fit here.

so rondo was just riding along. check his performances, especially that early in his career. i recall phil jackson calling rondo a "star" after they won the title in game 6

If you're going to go that route then you can't ignore the aging and erosion of the talent around him and the fact that the scenario here in Houston would be entirely different.

after his 2nd season, the Celtics began the season with the best starting record in NBA history and also set a franchise record with a nineteen-game winning streak. they went back to the finals in the 09-10 season.

We should at least try to drive up the price so that if the Mavs get him they will give away all their depth for Rondo

They got close in 2010 and did win the Eastern Conference that year. Similar thing in 2012.

Dragic is the most overhyped guy on here. He's a solid PG. But the elite PG's like WB, CB3, Lillard & Parker will still have a field day with us. I'm not sure why he'd be THE main target for Morey this offseason.

He is overhyped for sure, but he's a good fit.

Honestly I'd like him as a 6th man, in the Ginobli role. Getting a ton of minutes, but not the starter.

Bringing Dragic off the bench to sub in for Bev and relieve Harden of playmaking duties would be a big benefit.

If we could go into the playoffs with Dragic, Brewer and a big added to the roster while keeping all of our starters (DMO is in there) and Jason Terry I'd be ecstatic and really like our changes to hang with anyone.

Lebron James had to check rondo in the ECF (off the top of my head, I think it was ECF) because rondo was unstoppable.

    So, pretty good.

IDK why a very very good PG isn't acceptable to you- we don't need all elite players- we have Harden and Howard. What we need is elite roleplayers-- guys who aren't superstars but are great on their own merit- they don't even have to be elite roleplayers they just need to be very solid- Ariza like

You take Harden and Howard and put in 3 other starters with the talent of Ariza and thats the team you want- guys who are really good at what they do and can be roleplayers to the stars

Dragic adds that extra oomph scoring when Harden and Howard need a break- something we need

Dragic/Harden/Ariza/D-Mo/Howard could very well be a championship starting lineup- but you'd need a solid punch off the bench- those are 5 guys that offer individual talent that you could go or depend on- championship teams need a defending SF and we have that with him (Ariza)

Why are so many people here against signing Rondo if the price is right? I'm hearing arguments that the Rockets don't need a star, but Rondo is unlike any other "star" in the NBA. He's elite at passing, making his teammates better, being an above average rebounder and defender. It'd be amazing to have a PG rotation of Rondo/Beverley to go to war against all the elite point guards of the west in the playoffs. It'd also take the ball out of Harden's hands which would help us keep him fresh for the playoffs. Do we not remember how dead he looked last year?

Rondo can solidify 48 minutes of great PG play, make our players better, make our defense better and potentially keep Harden more fresh for the postseason.

    Who says no?

@WojYahooNBA: Dallas and Houston have continued talks today with Boston on a Rajon Rondo trade, league sources tell Yahoo. A lot of scenarios in play.

Yes this is what we need. A player who can create his own shots and score off the bench. We also need a back up big for when Howard is out of the game who can rebound and defend the paint. Our starting 5 when healthy IMO is one of the best starting 5's. We need better depth if we need to compete for a championship.
