I agree with the Bynum deal being better, but I don't think the Lakers are willing to part with him. Even moreso that Howard could potentially be a rental. The stars would need to align for the Lakers to go for Dwight. Dwight has to commit long term, and the Lakers have to want him over Bynum. Both are definitely things that can happen if things changed, but it isn't the case right now.

Rondo alone is not the haul I'd want for my franchise big man. If the Celtics had more young players with potential, I could see them offering a better package as far as proven talent under 30. They also aren't ready for a Howard departure after cashing in. They would be left with nothing because of all the aging vets in that team.

If Howard gets traded here, and he does give up hope of joining the Nets, I doubt he would leave the money on the table and not sign with Houston.

Even if he does leave, we would still have a few younger players and cap room to start fresh and rebuild the traditional way. Or we can wait on the next disgruntled superstar and do this dance all over again. One day, a superstar will stick, and we can enjoy the buzz again.

Golden State might have a better package than Houston, but Stephan Currys ankle is scary. I believe they are a dark horse for Howard

I'm not saying it'll happen, I'm saying it's looking more and more like it can happen. Orlando has is running out of time. The longer they wait, the less attractive the offers will be.

Can you blame them after that's went on?

I would very much like to know if Bynum is on the table or not. Reports are so conflicted.

Orlando will not do that trade unless they get Bynum in some shape (or have a three way trade with another team) Also, it wouldn't make sense to have Bynum and Howard together.

Even the lakers fans should be getting excited... but that means gasol and/or bynum would be moved if these reports are correct of Joe J going to brooklynn.

Or.... could this be a decoy of the nets signing Brook Lopez and including Gerald Wallace and others for Dwight in a S&T?

    Will be very interesting.

It won't be for cheap though. And maybe they are signing these players so that they can deal them in other deals.

Agree with what you're saying here as well. Just pointing out that if the Magic GM wants a cornerstone piece, and Dwight is willing to extend there (given the Nets look like they're out of the picture), then Rockets may not be in pole position.

GSW is another candidate for sure, and Orlando needs to do this trade as soon as practically possible, cause even the Rockets may not wait for them (Asik).

Dwight in new jersey/York will drive Spike lee crazy...there's always that ! And Billy Crystal..I mean he will swing either way.

Not for a one year rental, or a gimpy back. And Houston does not have what it takes to get him - superstar player.

Only way Nets get Howard is by a 3 to 4 way deal.

Only way because the Nets alone don't have the talent.

Superstars usually don't get traded for other superstars. Orlando knows they are not going to get equal value in this trade.

Don't want him anymore. He can take his drama queen act elsewhere.

SCREW D12! I dont want his lying two faced prima donna butt to ever wear a Rox uniform!
SCREW giving a boatload of $$$ to an unproven Asik! Cheap? fine.... wont get him for the 6M range i'd pay....
SCREW giving Hibbert max money! Once again, cheaper - sure! 10-12M fine - but he'll get more elsewhere...

Trade these overstocked assets and go get Big Al or Favors... or Horford....if we're gonna overpay (which we will have to..) I'd rather it were for a solid commodity who will be here for years to come!

With new jersey using up all thier cap-space they wont be able to sign dwight next offseason...

I think deron is smart and will realize wallace, and jojo if they trade for him, doeant make them contenders so decides to goto dallas...

If either situation happens dwight and dwill superteam doesnt seem like its happening...

Im down for a dwight trade more than ever... and by not trading up in draft we didnt part with value so if we obtain dwight it will be cheaper than it would have been on draft night...

Considering the NBA landscape right now, and with NJ looking like they are "moving on" from D12, do you think the Magic have LESS leverage now? Meaning, from the Rockets perspective, do you think the Rockets "trade package" for D12 is LESS now, than it was 48 hours ago before the draft?

If things are getting ugly in Orlando and they are even more motivated to move D12, they might have to take what they can get.
