[Woj] Magic have decided to begin engaging in trade discussions for Dwight Howard

Getting DWill isn't just about pairing Howard with a second star, getting DWill is about keeping Howard beyond the 1-year rental. Yeah, no **** I would love to have Howard for five years even without DWill, but that is not one of the plausible scenarios. Either you get them both long-term or you get a 1-year rental on Howard.

Teams need more than just Bird rights to keep Howard. If Bird rights is all it takes to keep Howard, then Howard is staying in Orlando.

 

I love when people just throw **** together without knowing if it'll work or not. That trade is impossible.

 

A boatload of young talent?

Honestly, I think many of us here really like Lamb, white, and D-mo and feel they have a lot of potential.

I'm not that excited about getting Dwight. Back injuries are nothing to scoff at and his desperation to go to Brooklyn scares me. People keep bringing up this extra money as if it's the sure thing he will stay...but there is a reason he wants to go to Brooklyn in the first place (even though they have a terrible team)

 

Well Howard is a hell of a start at putting together a championship team. Better

then what the Rockets have now. I would take my chances with Dwight then

trying to find a player nearly as good as him in the draft.

It's not so much that Dwight Howard doesn't want to be in Houston as much as he is trying to force his way to Brooklyn. Once he realizes that isn't going to happen, my guess is he will accept the reality of the situation.

And it's clear the bridges have been burned between Dwight and Orlando.

 

What makes you think he won't do the same to Houston mid season or a year or two later? Do you really want that drama?

 

You realize that if the Nets resign DWill...and resign Lopez or trade for Scola...along with their recent signing of Wallace for 40 million...that they would have no cap room to sign Howard next offseason?

Unless Howard wants to play for 5 million a year, he will not be a Net next offseason with DWill.

And if DWill signs with the Mavs, then the Mavs wont be able to sign Howard to a max deal next offseason.

If Howard comes to Houston this summer, his dreams of playing with DWill are over, unless DWill signs with the Rockets as a FA. Thats it.

let LA get howard and let's get bynum. do a 3 way having houston send their howard package to orlando, have howard sent to LA and bynum to houston.
