Dwight won't have a choice. He's firing all his bullets to end up in Brooklyn with Deron. If the Rockets acquire him, he's not walking away from loads of cash to go elsewhere. It's easy for him to say now because he's not a free agent and it's the only leverage he has to get to Brooklyn.

Plus, if he did walk away, then you would have a truly bad team that could get the kind of draft picks needed to land a superstar in the draft.

They Texans and OKC are in better shape than the Rockets. Both are considered contenders. What are the Rockets you tell me?

I have already spelled out what has changed.

The chance of Howard re-signing with us has gone to **** with DWill affirming his position that he will not follow Howard. We were trading for a chance at DHo+DWill long term. The window for that is closed.

As far as drafting goes, the reason that drafting for need is always going full r****d is very simple. It's a lot easier to fill "need" through FA. Drafting for need in hope of getting a role player to fill a need when All-Star potential is available is always going full r****d. The best way to improve the team is always to draft for All-Star potential first and foremost. If we were at all worried about need we would have just kept Dalembert.

Obviously it would have been great if we could have moved up and drafted for All-Star potential in a position of need and Morey would have done it in a heartbeat, but nobody was biting, so Morey did the right thing not drafting potential role players in positions of need. Lots of role players are available every year in FA. All-Stars and potential All-Stars in FA happen once in a blue moon.

Exactly...and not only would the Rockets be able to offer him a crapload more money, but there is no state income tax in Texas...so that would be an additional 10 million Howard would save.

If the Rockets get Dwight, he will be here for the long haul.

You can be a contender all you want but unless you win you haven't won ****.

So again what has either won of those teams won?

And trust me I know the Rockets suck. Thats why they need to get Dwight if they have the chance. He's a top 5 player.

While it would be nice if Deron Williams was a package deal with Howard, you do not pass up getting one superstar(and a center to boot, in a league devoid of quality centers) because you can't pair him with a second right away. 1 superstar >>>>>>> Zero superstars. You will have 5 years to build a quality team around Howard.

He's not walking away from 30 million dollars to leave Houston. The fact that NJ wants Scola and Joe Johnson tells you that they think Dwight is unlikely to sign with them, and they want a plan B in place to keep Deron.

Both are promising young teams with a very large window.

Honestly I like it more now than I did at the draft.

The Nets seem determined to blow this whole situation with terrible management by adding salary, and the Mavs wouldnt have space either.

Dwight may walk next year, but if its to Brooklyn, it looks like it will be for far less money, rather than just a little less money.

I make the trade and have a conteding 2012-2013, but we can't take back Hedo, thats for sure.

I think I read that CP3 turned down an extension in LAC, so I would make the Dwight trade, be good this year, and then have money to make a run at CP3 next offseason to entice Dwight to stay.

Howard is going to end up in LA and Bynum in Orlando we should act and offer a package for Bynum when he gets to Orlando!

The Rockets will have a chance at what a championship? Please dude your not making sense...Who will Dwight be playing with at the Rockets cause he sure hasn't won a ship in Orlando...I would swap the Rockets team with OKC in a heartbeat...Rockets are going nowhere with this mindset

If money talks that loudly with Howard, then we won't even get a chance to trade for him. He'll be a Magic for the next six seasons. I doubt that Howard would consider Houston to be a "much better team" based on players we don't even have. LOL. Remember that Orlando doesn't have to trade a truckload of assets for Howard, they already have him. By the time we trade for Howard we may be saddled with bad contracts, devoid of assets with future potential, and be in even worse shape than Orlando is in now.

Howard is not getting traded if money is what he cares abut. Orlando is even more desperate than we are. If anybody is going to call Howard's "bluff," Orlando will be first in line.

    No.....it isn't.

Players u have now wanna play here and are young with good upside.

If u trade anything it would be Lowry, Scola and Martin and a future pick...maybe add in Jones or Morris, but that's the extent of the young talent.

Especially if the dude isn't gonna stay beyond one year.

Orlando trades: Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu
Orlando receives: Pau Gasol, Kyle Lowry, (our young players/picks/cash???)

Orlando gets two talented players in Gasol/Lowry, rid themselves of Hedo's hideous contract, and potentially add some young talent or picks.

Los Angeles trades: Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol
Los Angeles receives: Dwight Howard, Luis Scola, Hedo Turkoglu

Los Angeles gets Dwight Howard. 'Nuff said.

Houston trades: Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola, (young players/picks/cash???)
    Houston receives: Andrew Bynum

Houston takes a chance on an infinitely talented but injury-prone center. What do we have to lose?

    Who says no?

Yep, if Money is all Dwight cares about then why not Orlando just take the bluff?

I mean the guy already opted in when he could have easily just not have done that and been on his way to the Nets right now.

If Dwight sees something extra in Brooklyn he will bolt...unless Morey has given him a great team in one year.

Im happy for jchill. He just got stuck in a bad situation here in Houston playing Center when he was clearly a better PF than Patterson.

    Orlando does.

While the Lakers have yet to make a direct offer, there's no scenario where Orlando would move Howard to the Lakers without getting back Andrew Bynum, L.A.'s 24-year-old All-Star center. Pau Gasol wouldn't fit the Magic's desires to rebuild with young players and draft picks.

Wouldn't suprise me if Morey tells the Magic they can have any1 since he's more than desperate. Remember the deal for Gasol?? He was going to give LA Chris Paul, give the Hornets Dragic, Scola & Martin only for a soft ass player. What you think his package for Orlando looks like? Probably: Parsons, D-Mo, Lamb, White, 2013 1st rnd pick, 2014 1st round pick, Martin & Lowry.

Morey to Orlando GM: Come on man, I'll suck yo dick!

I think that quote refers to a deal being done between LA/ORL straight up. Adding Lowry in addition to Gasol along with a package of some of our young players or future picks could be enough for Orlando to pull the trigger IMO. Especially considering their limited options at the moment.
