You don't lead a team of NBDL players and expect to win a championship. But a great player with a quality team is expected to win it all, and there's absolutely no excuse to lose to an underdog in playoff. Unlike LeBron fanbois, I never used Gasol as the reason why they lost 08 finals. It's Kobe's to win and it's his to lose. And he received the most criticism after the loss, not Gasol or any other teammate for that matter. TMac and LeBron fanbodys always find new excuses, but truth never gets old.
i hate to say it but i'm beginning to agree with goodbug about bron. I used to be a big fan of his but it has become more and more clear lately that he has attitude issues and refuses to take any personal responsibility for anything.
i'm sorry, the reason for the lakers' loss in 08 championship was due to pau's softiness. kobe actually didn't get any blame.
I don't remember if he did or didn't, but he should have since he shot an abysmal 40% at high volume (which is his Finals m.o.)
Lebron is a quitter or not is none of my business. I am a basketball fan and enjoy watching great basketball and since I happened to be Rockets fan i wish the rockets win it all. Most posters here have an issue with you is because of your non-stop kobe balls licking. Ok, some of them maybe Lebron fans, i don't care. See, Kobe lost because he played with NBDL players. As far as i remembered, kobe played with prime Odom and Butler and he couldn't lead the Lakers to the playoffs that season. Swapped Gasol with Kwame and Crittenton(whatever his name is), the same Lakers went from 0-2 in playoffs to NBA finals. So it was all because of his teammates suck? Wait, i read before, that you said Kobe made his teammates better but his teammates still suck according to you now? I guess the next excuse used will kobe plays in the West which i read dozen times before as well...... nothing news!
Kobe did make them better. Like Atkins had his career high for his single year in Lakers. But Kobe couldn't take NBDL players to championship, or ever 2nd round. In fact, he needed to score 35.4 ppg just to get into playoff. Gasol was traded to lakers and he increased his fg% by 5% instantly. That's how Kobe made him better. It's one thing you make player around you better and another thing better enough to win in playoff. I think you need some basic training in logic.
Butler & Odom went to the playoffs with rookie Wade just the year before. I guess rookie Wade was THAT good to take NBDL talent deeper than Kobe.
In fact, rookie Wade took them to the 2nd round that year, something Kobe has never done without a top-flight bigman.
Kobe would do the same thing if he wasn't injured in 04-05 season. As he proved it in the next 2 years, only in west. And no, if Wade's that good, how come Smush Parker was cut after 2 months of service in Miami, with 2 yr/4M contract for free, he's playing in CBA last time I checked.
if you watch the lakers, it's the SYSTEM that makes them better. the one season kobe and the lakers suck the most, they didn't run the triangle offense. now kobe can play 30 minutes and lakers have no problem winning. the one game kobe jacks up a ton of shots and go outside the offense, THEY LOSE. hey coincidence, i think not.
42 wins was enough to get you HCA in first round in east. Not even qualified for playoff in west for the same year. Lakers won 45 game s in 06 and was only 7th seed.
Really, because they were 28-38 in the games he did play. I don't know in what world that equals 2nd round of the playoffs. Keep spreading misinformation.
Good point. I apologize for buying into his crap again and derailing yet another thread. The above will be me new response to any goodbug posts. In encourage others to do the same.
Right, I wonder why Wolves aint' having the best record in the league. Sure system is good for the team, but you need the skills to run it to begin with. If you replace Wade or LeBron with Kobe in Heat, he can be the pivot down low instantly, as he did when Gasol was absent in the beginning of last year. I wonder why LeBron can't do that with his huge body? And yes, lakers are deep this year and they can win games with Kobe playing 30 mins. But that's not the case before this season, how many times the 2nd unit gave up a run in no time. There's a reason Kobe played nearly 39 min last year. But he didn't think it's too many. A warrior does whatever it takes to win. LeBron lacks that mentality.
They were 7th seed when he's injured. And out of playoff when he's doing rehab, he rushed back to help but he's not the same player. Bottom line, they guy competed to win by all means, not faked injury and watched his team lost 19 straight on sideline.
Goodbug will only post in any Lebron or Kobe/Lakers related thread. My advice to you, goodbug, please please spend more of your times in Lakers' forum. Cause your debates are getting old. Is always goes like this. (1) Heat is Wade team not Lebron's (2) Lebron get his assists because he hogged the ball. Kobe will get double digits assists if he wanted too but his role is a scorer. (3) Kobe makes his teammates better whereas Lebron don't. (4) Kobe couldnt win anything without Shaq or Gasol because Smush, Kwame, and Walton sucked. I thought you said the team leader (Kobe, Lebron, Jordan) was supposed to take all of the responsibility and blame, not blame it on his teammates, which is all you ever do when faced with the "kobe couldnt win without shaq or gasol" argument. and your argument that Kobe is better than Jordan is always more or less the same. Is fun to read your post at first but now is getting old. Please come back again if you have any new tricks. Thank you! Signed, everyone on clutchfans who isnt an idiot and thinks you are horrible at trolling
b/c the wolves have a ton of young players. you can see what the system has on beasley this year. with time and experience, their offense will be very good, with glimpses so far this season. look at the bench this year. you take kobe and pau out, they still run the offense to perfection. shannon brown is a damn beast b/c he plays according to the system. he would struggle pretty much everywhere else. yes you need good players, but if you have a great system, players have an easier time. look at nash and amare under d'antoni's system. look at paul pierce's fg% since the others have joined him...
