You beat me to it. Irrational dislike for a terrific coach.

Houston Rockets trade assistant coach Kelvin Sampson to the Brooklyn Nets for a future 1st round pick(unprotected). Or give us our 1st round pick back from the Twill trade.

I agree. Avery Johnson is a better coach than Sampson, imo. But will he ever accept as an assistant coach?

We could promote Finch and hire another smart defensive-minded assistant coach. Our defense has been ranked at the bottom in the league. Sampson who is in charge of our defense aspect has not been doing a great job.

    Bye bye, Sampson.

People here are racist against Native Americans.

Also, I wonder Morey can ransom a draft pick out of them taking Coach Sampson.

They certainly have been playing like garbage but they have serious talent. Deron,Johnson,Lopez,Wallace,Brooks and more. They have decent depth and plenty of scorers and good defenders on the team. They are so much better than they have been lately. They started the season at 11-4 and then dropped a ton of games. Depending on who is hired for the HC position they can make a run in the East.

As far as I can tell, Sampson is a lot nicer (and a lot less sarcastic) toward media members than McHale is.

I am in favor of anything that brings Chris Finch a step closer to the main job.

I hope he gets it. He certainly made some mistakes as interim head coach here, but I think he showed he can be a very solid head coach in this league.

And I really wouldn't mind seeing him succeed in Brooklyn.

Sampson has done a very good job coaching defense in the past. The pace we play and the lack of continuity both are a big reason our defense is piss poor.

I think Sampson can be a good NBA coach, he is extremely bright, knows how to handle players and works very hard.

He's a well liked coach amongst the players. It would be a loss for the Rockets if he goes.

oh wow. who is going to yell at Lin now? i'm not joking. I think the yelling is helpful, pop still goes full metal jacket marine drill sergeant on tony.

He is a defensive mastermind the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way were his stance against 'democratic basketball' after the first week of the season. The nets will get a good coach if they do hire him.

Sampson v D-will should be interesting to follow. :p

I think Sampson would be a decent fit with the Nets.

His Penchant for superstar ball should play well with D-Will. He is familiar with PG centric offense (good for D-Will). And he's defense focused (needed for the Defense anemic Nets).

That said, if they're looking at Sampson, then it's a good bet that Phil Jackson, the VanGundys, and Sloan are all long shots.

With time, Sampson could turn them into legitimate contenders... for a play off spot.

Seems highly unlikely given his head coaching out clause.

ROCKET Y U only treat players as assets, but not coaches.
Riley got multiple picks for Van Gundy. Rockitz are behind the curve again. Maybe Morey is just another Khan after all.

I hope he gets the job. Doubt he'll get respects from the Nets "stars" though.

The Rockets can afford to lose the "defense" coach, as we have none anyway.

    "Hello, democratic basketball!"

Not sure why'd we want to do that.

Douglas has actually played well in the off-guard spot and came in and hit some huge shots for us. Not sure I'd be happy with just giving him up.
