Morey and JVG are close, if Morey vouched for him that mean something.

I'm all in on championship. I'm not sure JVG is the ideal championship coach though agree he could be good and could pull one off in a way similar to Carlisle. He's super solid and respected.

But I'd strive for something more and rather take a risk in Messina for example.

The Pringles thing is shocking in a way to boggles the mind.

Really? MDA over JVG? I mean, I understand badly wanting other candidates but MDA over JVG is just moronic.

    I feel bad for this.

Both of JVG and Vogel are OK for me.

But they even not get any interview chance....

Jesus they are not even in that 15 candidates list?

Barkley was right on this organization.

This is why media always downplay this organzation.

When media bash Rockets, please don't ask why. This is the reason.

Vogel would be the best choice. I didn't want jvg back anyways but he's definitely better than D'antoni Pringles and Mchale. Hopefully we get someone who demands respect Harden and the rest of the Rockets are going to walk all over that can of potato chips.

Well, there were pros and cons to JVG too. Namely, due to his long absence from coaching, you don't know if he still has what it takes. And he was never very flexible in terms of his playing style or preference for certain players, which was both a strength and a weakness. He may have mellowed since then, but who knows.

Regardless, if all these reports and rumors are true and Les Alexander is really trying to put his stamp on the HC selection, then this may not end well.

I'm pretty glad we didn't get JVG to be honest. I see him as the flipside of D'Antoni.

I'm just hoping sanity prevails and we get a real coach...

    Why?

JVG is a great defensive mind. There's no magic formula saying if you are elite defensively you will win a chip.

MDA is a great offensive mind. There's no magic formula saying if you are elite offensively you will win a chip.

I think when hiring those two as your head coach, the assistants are what will make or break you. It's the balance between offense and defense is what is really key.

JVG was my hopeful. Team needs defense and a coach who has a proven record to put the stars in check. I love Kenny "no Arche" Smith as a rockets fan, but I'd prefer D'Pringles as a coach over him. A part of me feels like the hold out for JVG is the playoffs and not wanting to announce anything until JVG current duties are completed. If anything other teams have already shown it doesn't take long to know who you want and get it done. Even if it's your #1,2, or 3 option.

I always remember JVG buying seats for Rockets fans. I'm replacing my Rockets license plate I've had for years for a Obama for president plate. There are coaches who are in it to restore respect and money, but JVG just wants to manage and win for his city. For him to not get a sniff especially with Kenny Smith getting some time with management is just total disrespect. At this point, they can get anyone to coach the Rockets, I'm just going to wait till training camp start to care unless we get Durant.

Same here. The Rockets said all along that they were interested in Jeff Van Gundy, but yet they have never interviewed him. What a joke.

I agree. Jeff Hornacek will sign with the Knicks, so I'll take Vogel as HC and sign Brian Shaw also as leading assistant coach. Former Indiana Pacers coaching duo back together again.

I feel bad for this organization.

Perhaps I should stay away Rockets all the time until Le$ sell this team.
