as someone who is not yet of legal age, i was very scared and confused by the unwarranted profanity. i'll talk to my school counselor about my feelings tomorrow.
I actually like JJ on his podcasts, and he definitely seems to know his **** from an X's and O's standpoint. Might be the slickest podcaster move yet to basically create your own job interview for a few months on Youtube in preparation. I feel like it's a lose lose situation though. If they lose, he's the scapegoat, if they win he's just the guy who sat there whilst Lebron player-coached his way to a chip (or at least, that's what the public perception will be.) Maybe the ONLY thing that'll save him is how hated LeBron is, especially by the rabid MJ fans (always makes me laugh watching them argue back and forth when everybody knows Dream's the real GOAT) and they might push the narrative that JJ saved the day just to take away from Bron's legacy? Glad it's not us dealing with that circus in all honesty.
[Halleemah Nash] I’ve only been called the N word to my face by a white man once in my life and it was on the campus of Duke University while I was doing work with the basketball team. And today he was named the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. What a world.
JJ Redick is the stupidest hire imaginable! Shock jock turned head coach? LOL -- this will explode on the Lakers.
Or podcast/broadcast career. Redick actually responded to this and denied the accusation. There were similar rumors back in his Duke days along with something else that went public.
This will be a big deal. Young Redick was a dick, allegedly. In a perfect world, being an ******* in college shouldn't ruin your career 20 years later, but this isn't a perfect world.
Looks like it's getting picked up by more news sites. JJ REDICKDENIES CALLING WOMAN N-WORD. Source: TMZ sports and Complex. "Halleemah Nash -- an author, speaker, and Duke alum -- dropped the bombshell allegation on social media on Tuesday ... claiming, "I've only been called the N word to my face by a white man once in my life and it was on the campus of Duke University while I was doing work with the basketball team." It's worth noting that Redick once used a racial slur while wishing Chinese fans a happy new year in a promo video in 2018. Redick issued an apology where he claimed to be "tongue-tied" and that the "word I purportedly said is not in my vocabulary."
i bet espn dont report on this story like they did chauncey billups and jason kidds past when they were inititally hired.. but espn is so "progressive" lol
It was wrong of ESPN to bring up Billup's and Kidd's past and it would be wrong of ESPN to bring up Redick's past. Be consistent, no? Now, if you have an issue with ESPN playing favorites, that's something else. But I wouldn't call Redick or Kidd or Billups scumbags for something they allegedly did at some point in their lives. Also, Klutch is the hidden hand here.
I thought I would step in and see how it’s going in this thread after hearing some clips of his press conference. Looks like a second LBJ administration ends the same as the first one
it was a different world back then. i hear azns said it all the time and it everyone was cool with it
