tbh, none of these packages sound anything close to a superstar value. I know it never works out that way, but still, you'd think you'd get some better offers for a guy like Love. I suppose the fact that he only has 1 year on his deal left really destroys his value.
Rockets fans always think they have the best offer. Of the six players you mentioned, Klay Thompson would be the most coveted by far. Best player=best deal.
Would be crazy to basically only get Thompson for 1 more year than Love and be stuck with David Lee. But, hey, maybe Khan is back in power in Minnesota.
I'd definitely take the chance (and control of him for 4, rather than 2 years) on the #6 player in this draft. Plus not saddle myself with David Lee's contract and rebuild.

In 2013- 2014, Parsons had a better FG%, more assists, more rebounds, more steals, a higher PER, played more games http://bkref.com/tiny/51wUS It's not as clear as you think. We as Rockets fans undervalue Chandler because of his faults. The guy has shown he can play good defense but really fell off last year. If he can put up similar offensive numbers and get back to his plus defensive abilities, the dude is an All-Star.
Curry, Iggy, Love + Bogut still isn't in the top half of the West if you ask me. They'd have to give up so much to get Love it would cripple their team and it's depth.
I put that team ahead of the Rockets as constructed but if we added Melo or dare I say LeBron then they are obviously inferior to us but so would every other team in the West. If that trade went through and things stayed the same here I'd predict. 1. OKC 2. SAS 3. GSW 4. LAC 5. Houston 6. PDX 7. PHX 8. MEM
That's fine, I'm glad that my opinion is subject to your factual based knowledge, it really keeps things in check.
Klay Thompson might be the most coveted, but I don't think he's the best player. He's basically Danny Green, which is valuable but Asik is a better player than both Klay and Parsons who are about equal, though Parsons is a year older. Jones is much better than Barnes and two picks is obviously much better than one.
I think Thompson is incredibly overrated. It reminds me of how the Bulls valued Deng when Kobe was available. I'm not commenting on Asik or Parsons being better or equal. I don't agree with that. But his value... just seems to high. It's unusual for such a common skillset. I think the Warriors are trying inflate his stature so they can use him for Love. Kevin Love is so much better than Thompson it's crazy. They'd be idiots not to trade him immediately.
so they're switching one group of defensive misfits with offensive game for another. and the wheels on the bus go round and round
