$4.6M for the Lakers 55th-60th pick in 2021?

 

I've been the biggest Tilman skeptic and I remain so, but to call this move "savings" is just incorrect here; we were hardcapped and likely think that the MLE is a route to a more valuable player than Ariza.

Plus he just spent 4.6M on a 2nd round pick.

 

Must be a long play to eventually save money.

 

It was always unlikely Trev was staying.

And, he isn't mad at leaving Htown as it is.

Warriors paid the Bulls 3.8M a couple of years ago in order to take Jordan Bell in the 35/40 range if i remember well, and he was considered one of the best guys to get into the 2nd round, fwiw.

I mean Tilman paying $4.6M for a future SRP, is extremely interesting. I've never heard of teams buying future picks at all. They usually buy them the year off. And Detroit's SRP will be a high one too.
