That's the insane part. We went from one owner who avoided the luxury tax to another owner who does the same but lies to us and say that he will go over the tax.

We are not there yet, but this is what it must feel like to be a Jets fan.

 

I’m not holding my breath on the Rockets actually using the MLE or the $12.8 million trade exception. However, if Tilman Fertitta gave up a guaranteed first-round pick for a pick that may not convey for three or four years to save $8.2 million plus luxury-tax savings (Ariza’s contract became fully guaranteed to match salaries in the Covington trade), he’s easily the worst owner in the NBA. The Rockets better use either the trade exception or the MLE, preferably both if possible.

 

Rockets get Ibaka...still not enough to win. Harden still gone.

This team has no idea what it is doing. Are we rebuilding or what? Commit to a plan.

We traded ROCO for a 2nd rounder basically now, stupid, dumb, makes no sense...well, we know Tilman is out to save money.

 

Basically Tillman paid 4.6million + a first round pick to save 8million in Ariza salary. The way he spinned it by saying "4.6 million to buy a 2nd round pick" is BS which means this "ability to use the full MLE" is also BS.

When I heard Tilman was buying the team I was elated that a UH bigwig alumni would be owning my favorite team.... and then I remembered what kind of a businessman he is... and then I saw the price tag he was paying vs. his net worth.... and I got a knot in the pit of my stomach.

 

Harden, Westbrook, Tucker and Gordon are all next. Get rid of all the big money earners so he can bring in cheaper alternatives.

Houston out: Covington, $4.8 million
Houston In: Portland 2021 1st (Lotto Protected), Detroit 2021 1st (Top 16 Protected), LAL 2020 2nd, ability to use our full MLE

I wish the Detroit 2021 pick was top 10 protected, because it’s not likely to convey next year, but it is what it is. If we are able to get Christian Wood for that MLE, that’s a net positive when you include the picks.

 

Fertitta acting like the Rockets team is his main source of income. Thought the guy was a balla. Les 'no socks' Alexander was worth 2 billions less and went on shopping sprees like his name was Amancio Ortega.

I just want 2 more championships right now. Is that too much to ask for? Time is dwindling on Harden's prime.
