Draft Wemby Sign Harden for 3 years Trade KPJ for something Extend KMJ at a reasonable price Sign a cheap, solid veteran backup PG as insurance...Tre Jones, or something Find a decent coach - think outside the box - like the Spanish national team coach (Italian guy) - or Sam Cassell - something, something needs to change Cut Nix PG: Harden, TyTy, Vet PG SG: Green, KMJ, JC SF: Bari, Tari, KMJ, Tate PF: Wemby, Bari, Tari C: Sengun, Garuba Championship Baby!
Concerning the dead cap argument. The TV deal is expiring and agents believe the new deal will create a similar spike like the Durant to GS summer. https://www.forbes.com/sites/bryant...nning-for-the-2025-offseason/?sh=62e33a0927c4 Regarding our cap (excluding the scrubs), the Green Values are when you can expect our draft picks new big deals to kick in. 2025-26: ~171m cap, 190m luxury 2027-27: ~180m cap, 200m luxury If everything goes perfect for the Rockets, and Green/Sengun/Jabari all end up deserving max deals, you might, emphasis might, be in a little bit of a squeeze in 26-27. Now in this scenario, you are undoubtedly a contender with three max caliber players on your team, so just maybe you have to pay the Luxury tax. Big ****ing deal. If you are looking at things objectively, the Harden pursuit is a no brainer. I have yet to hear an appealing alternative.

If the 76ers are wise Sam will be the next HC after Doc naturally gets bounced in the 2nd round because he's an inept coach stuck in his ways from the 2000's. Sam IMO is going to be a great coach. I don't think Stone and Tilly are capable of signing a coach like him. Knowing them they would bring it Nate McMillan or Luke Walton or some dumb ****.
"washed" it's funny how quickly casuals dismiss skilled high iq players like cp3/harden are done, while at the same time believe losers like westbrick/simmons can still play and contributes to winning
I think to me the main factor on whether I would want to give Harden big money or not is who we get in the draft. If we luck out and get Wembanyama, it's a no brainer. Having Harden as our primary ball handler would make everything easier for all of the rest of the guys. But if we got Scoot, I'm not sure that having Harden wouldn't hinder his development. But Scoot is the only guy I have that concern with.
well sure, he's fallen off his entire career because his very first year in the playoffs he was insane - 24-11-5 over 12 games with only 1 TO and 2 Steals .
James Harden Returning To Rockets 'A Very Real Possibility' James Harden can become a free agent again this offseason and his market is expected to extend beyond the Philadelphia 76ers to the Houston Rockets. While the Rockets have been a rebuild mode since trading Harden to the Brooklyn Nets in 2021, there appears to be serious mutual interest between the parties dating back to a report on Christmas Day from Adrian Wojnarowski. "I also believe the Harden situation is one of the more under talked about things with what's going on in the season here," said Brian Windhorst on his podcast. "We are always guilty of looking ahead. And there has been very little discussion about Harden. Probably because Philly has played generally really well for the last two months. "Christmas Day, Woj comes out with that story that Houston wants to go over Harden and it was like 'Whoa.' "Not just that Houston wants to, but Houston believes it is a legitimate possibility and that's not coming out of thin air," said Tim MacMahon. "James Harden still spends a lot of time in Houston. Spends his summers in Houston. Works out at the Rockets' facility on a regular basis. It's a very real possibility. And Harden, by the way, never shot it down. He just said 'I don't know where that came from.'" "It was kind of a non-denial," added Windhorst. "And that [storyline has] just gone way." Harden took a one-plus-one deal with the Sixers as a free agent last offseason worth $68.6 million. Harden took a $15 million discount in order to help the Sixers add P.J. Tucker and Danuel House. While Harden and the Rockets may have serious interest in reuniting, it could also be Harden attempting to increase his chances of signing a lucrative contract with the Sixers. Harden recently hired Troy Payne as his agent. "It's also a leverage point," said Windhorst.
Just using this to leverage the Sixers. I think Harden loves Houston but probably wouldn't ever play for a team owned by Tilman again.
[Macmahon] Houston believes that James Harden returning is a legitimate possibility and that's not coming out of thin air.
