Look at how they (haven't) performed in the playoffs to see why.

Again, if you think Memphis has any chance of beating the current Clippers team in a playoff series your seriously foolish. First, the Grizzlies don't have enough scoring. Second, Memphis doesn't have enough depth to compete in a playoff series with them. Memphis is fools gold. You definitely think your smarter than what you really are about NBA basketball. The only threat to the Clippers is OKC and Miami, period.

Also, I didn't say that the Rockets are currently championship contenders. I think they are on the borderline, only slightly above the Clippers. However, at least the Rockets have two stars who have both been to the NBA finals, at least they have youth and the potential to surprise people, at least they can offer more money, and oh yeah, you don't have to live in f***ing Los Angeles.

You do realize that not only Doc but Glen Davis and Turk have both been to the NBA finals as well right?

They're better this year though...and so is blake. I'm not saying they're going to win it but you don't know...and you can't base it off the past seasons.

LOL yeah because those guys are going to be the main determining factors for whether the Clippers make it

Big Baby and Turkoglu. Give me a break.

Coaches aren't that important also. The most important thing in the NBA is your star players.

There are a small number (3-5 usually) that make a real difference in a positive way and a small number (3-5 usually) that make a real difference in a negative way. However the vast majority are competent and make marginal differences.

For every Popovich or Tibs there is a half dozen Woodson's or Brook's.

If the Grizzlies make the playoffs, it will likely be the 7th or 8th seed. Unless OKC and San Antonio start tanking, Clippers will probably end up at 3rd at best. So it's not likely they will face each other anyway. But if so, that's why they signed Big Baby. Lets see how Randolph does trying to bully that Big Baby's phat ass. Spurs probably don't want any of Memphis though either.

I've never thought Doc Rivers was a great coach from an X's and O's standpoint and I hate that he walks around like he's the guru of championship rings when he only won 1 in Boston. It's not like he's Phil Jackson or Greg Popovich or something. But one thing that makes him the most valuable coach/GM is that he is probably the most respected leaders in the NBA. I'd say the vast majority of the NBA players, especially the young African American players, look up to him as a role model on and off the court. So, from a recruiting aspect, the Clippers will be a popular destination while he's there.

Clippers are a better choice over Houston for him. Better coaching coming from Indiana that is important. and Collison is an exteammate. Plus they beat the Rox 3 times this season, so in comparison, they are the better team. Do the Rox really want an ex-Alpha dog who does not deliver after calling out the Heat in the playoffs? Seriously, he's done - Rox have a healthy 25 yr old wing in Hamilton vs a 30yr old coming off major knee surgery former top dog - I think Houston lucked out by not getting him.

Doc Rivers has gotten them most out of just about every player on the Clippers roster except for maybe Jared Dudley. The expectation from Danny Granger is defense first. But on the offensive end, he is only expected to be a stretch 3 that can knock down 3 pointers. With the limiting of his responsibilities, he can focus on shooting which he has done well in his career. With CP3 and Blake Griffin taking a lot of the attention of whoever they play, Granger will get plenty of open 3's. He essentially serves the Glen Rice role on the Lakers early Shaq/Kobe titles.
