Sucks for that talented young man, he has the skills to be an elite big man in this league. What did Ilgalskis do to fix his feet? Whatever it was it takes a year to heal. I hope he heals up and gets a chance to show what he can do
What was special about him? I dont watch college ball, was he just another talented 7 footer who could pan out to be amazing? Anyways I hope he recovers the kid is like 20, he has time to heal, I just hope he is not another Greg Oden.
Sad news coming out of philly man but I think the moral of the story here is DO NOT TRUST BIG MEN WITH BAD LOWER EXTREMITIES!!!
He is a very skilled center for his age. One of the best offensive throwback centers on the offensive end in years.
I think Hinkie outsmarted himself in the draft, he had two high picks and he used it on damaged goods and a player who may not come over for the next 5 years. With Embiid being injured the 76ers is gonna look around and say you had 4 high picks already and only Noels to show for it.
Same background as Hakeem (started with soccer, Africa, basketball later). Only played basketball for a few years, but has shown incredible progress and has natural footwork and understanding of the game. Did some Hakeem-lite moves and looked comfortable doing them. Great defensive instincts, but has to get better at team defense. Extremely good athleticism. He also developed a nice jumpshot after the draft and now apparently knocks down 3s at will in practice. His upside isn't limited, but the foot news are scary.
Redundant story of big men and foot injuries, we know all too well about that. Hopefully this kid makes a full recovery, I am very interested in seeing what kind of game he has.
Hinkie gambled that Embiid could make a recovery to pre-injury status. So far, it has not worked. Dude has not played one game yet and nobody knows if he will ever able to do it. Like somebody said, this is Greg Olden all over again. -- a waste of high draft pick.
