what sucks is if the rockets do end up winning the series the media narrative will be they only won because Durant got hurt. Sure the Asterisk will fade over time but it will be the whole MJ retired thing again.

Because the Rockets won games 3 and 4? It is very hard to win three straight playoff games.

History has shown that the Rockets are very capable of winning two games in a row.

Obviously I would prefer to have won last night but I saw a Rockets team fall behind 17 points after the first quarter, on the road and fight back to a tie and be in it until the very end. I would be more concerned if the Rockets had just folded and lost by 20.

Right, until everyone remembers that the Rockets didn't have Chris Paul in games 6-7 the year before.

Honestly, who cares.... you have no control over that.

God who cares? it will be glorious to advance even if they choose to forfeit the WCF's to Denver by going on a 1980's teamwide coke binge.

As others have pointed out, KD's absence forces Curry and Thompson to shoot more, for better or worse. It also shortens their already short rotation, meaning some scrub will be counted on to produce.

Most importantly, in my opinion, is that it forces them to immediately start playing a style that may have worked spectacularly for them a few seasons back, but which the haven't played very much since. It's never good to be forced into a major adjustment mid-series.

They fought back to tie to take a lead, and KD was out. It should not have been so difficult for them to take the game without him. The rockets are in real danger of losing this in 6 games because they get too complacent when they think they are better than someone, and now ALL the pressure is on the rockets and not the defending champs. I’m not so sure we have the guys who can handle that pressure. Steph and klay will be out there free stroking now without a care in the world. I am disgusted

Yep. This is it. This is the moment Harden (and Paul to an extent) can finally put a positive brick in their legacy. They lose this series. That is it. They are NEVER getting past Golden State (unless both KD and Klay leave). You can not ask for a more open door. Only Denver taking out Seattle in 94 was more of a red carpet I think.

Well, KD's absence has to be an advantage to us. He is the best player on that team.

They will play a different style of basketball with Curry being the locomotive without KD. Sure.

If we can't beat that minus KD, that says more about us quality wise rather than them.

What's ironic is that several prominent media commentators this morning were speculating that the Rockets would've won last night had Durant not gotten hurt.

Can he start talking once Harden disappears yet again? Because he will.

this board can only take so much whining. we get it, you don't think the rockets will win. it doesn't take 100 posts of constant b****ing for everyone to know.

Who gives a ****. A ring is a ring and I quite frankly don't care what anybody thinks if we are able to advance and eventually win the championship.

The fact is that the Warriors had us down 2-0 and while healthy they failed to put us away and gave us life back. They lost Durant because Kerr has had no choice but to play his guys heavy minutes to try to win this. Even before Durant went down yesterday, the Rockets were already back in the game and there is no telling what would of happened if Durant was available.

I don't care what the media has to say one bit. If the Rockets bring the championship back home, there will be nothing that no hater can tell me that will erase my joy.

I pray to the basketball gods that they are good to Harden and CP3 tomorrow, because I want our city to celebrate the joy of an NBA title once again.
