[Woj]Covington traded for Ariza

Coving is turning 30 in a month and only had 2 seasons left on his deal, we simply recouped the value we spent on him.

 

This sucks. He’s worth more than these picks but we got a trade back essentially. Ariza is basically a last ditch effort to make Harden happy. I’m guessing these two picks are packaged soon. Higher pick or for a center like Myles Turner? We’ll see,

 

I don't know man, he at least gives you a bigger presence on the court. Not saying it's my choice, but size does matter in this league and although Rockets small ball experiment was fun, we did get killed on the boards constantly. RoCo was good on the team, but he wasn't that good that you can't trade him away if Stone actually does have another trade in mind. As we've seen multiple times, if you want to make moves, you better have expiring contracts and some FRPs.

Once again, I am in denial and just attempting to find a positive spin.

Ariza is simply a 12 million expiring to match salary for Portland. I'd like to believe we're gonna dump WB and land some deal for another great player and keep Harden... but that's looking like a fairy tale. Harden and WB have demanded out, it's safer to assume it's over then otherwsie.

 

Could use the Full MLE to sign say Ibaka....a good friend of both Harden and Westbrook.

Rebuilding teams can often be more fun to watch/be a fan of them teams with no future/disgruntled stars that don't have what it takes to win a ring.

That being said, this is going to be Tilmans rebuilding team... so we're pretty ****ed.
