Minnesota's defense is the best it's been in years. That's not saying much, but they're clearly improved on that end. He won't singlehandedly make us elite, but he will certainly improve us. And he won't be replacing Tucker, so I don't see how that point even matters. If anything he will improve PJ's game because he won't have to play 40 minutes while always on the toughest defensive assignment.
Yes, we need elite shooters who also play great defense. Did you have anybody in mind? They must be easy to come by.
The last two seasons Rob has shot 37% and 38% from three. Ray Allen hovered around 40%. And then he is an elite defender. What else do you want?
LOL - nope - but Capela is pretty great at D. I think we need a GREAT shooter who is OK at D, more than a great defender who can't shoot. DD
Covington about to lose his shooting touch just like every other Rocket. That 34% three about to drop to 30%-31%! You come to the Rockets, you "forget" how to shoot.
Aaron Gordon has a similar contract to Clint Capela, why not try to trade for Aaron instead of losing value. Aaron in this offense can become a All Star. Like Paskal Siakam was to Toronto.

Sheesh Mac is having a hell of a season. Career high PER, career high TS%. Finishes 78% of his shots at the rim, and 38% of his shots from three. Has entirely eliminated mid-range garbage. AND GAWDAMN he appears to be figuring out the defensive side of the ball a little bit! You just gotta love it. .608 TS% (SCORCHING)
