They are keeping him on the roster for the foreseeable future while they try to find a way to move him without outright releasing him and eating the cost

Makes sense. At 6-7 we don’t need vets at the end of their career. We need talented young players.

I have a feeling we'll see ch back around the deadline, he wasn't much active last year too during the season...

So if I criticize Melo again, am I still going to get shamed?

Going to be fascinating to see if someone else decides to pick him up.

I don't get this 'releasing him but not' shenanigans.

As a Rockets fan, it sucks that this didn't work out just because our depth is already rough. I really thought the Chris Paul effect would keep Melo near Gordon's level of scoring off of the bench. I was giving Melo the benefit of the doubt of being a sane human - I was wrong.

Not a win for me. Not a good year for Morey.

Good for Clutchfans though, people can stop starting threads every 2 hours that say the exact same thing.

If he plays, he is worth a 2nd round pick.

If he does not allow to play, he is worth negative two 2nd round picks.

Now you can do Chriss/Melo/1 First for a rotation player like Wesley Johnson.

Wesley Johnson has 7 feet wing span, can play defense at SF.

The only team I think they can take Melo is Pelicans.

I hope MDA got what he wanted by holding this unnecessary grudge. The whole team played horrible, including our $160 superstar who couldn't make layups. The Rockets shouldn't even had signed Carmelo if they were gonna behave like this

It’s kind of a bummer because we never really got to see him with a completely healthy and focused Houston Rockets. CP3 was basically ass all year long.

not so sure about that. he gave it a shot, it didn't work (for a variety of reasons) . . . nothing ventured, nothing gained. I don't think the Melo experiment hurts us very much in the long run

You really think it's MDA's doing? I just think Melo has been exposed as a dinosaur in the league. Why not keep him on the roster, if we can keep Nene? Melo just can't accept the role.

Me too. I genuinely feel bad for melo. I didn't think he played that poorly -- certainly not as bad as some of our other major pieces. But, we sure look better last couple of games.

Gonna be a great rest of the year when the team doesn’t have to worry about a washed selfish quitter they gotta think about satisfying
