Is Miami really gonna let Josh Richardson hold up a deal?

Josh, Bam, Justise ... gotta give one or two up Riles.

Whiteside, Waiters, T.Johnson, J.Johnson, Olynyk, any of your other terrible contracts ain't gonna cut it!

Lol could you imagine Morey holding up a trade over Josh Richardson?

I hope Minnesota tells Riley "Hey Pat, you can keep your foundational player, we're trading Butler to another team, thanks anyway"

As long as he doesn't go to a contender, I really don't care where he ends up. Would be nice to get him to Houston, but we all know that would be difficult .

I agree. Get him out of the west and I'm happy. I want Butler here too but it's gonna be hard.

I think it’s clear right now Butler’s two biggest goals are to get paid and be the man. He will accept other situations, but teams willing to let him be the top dog and a handshake deal to give him 5-year max are definitely his preference.

The Rockets give him neither. They give him chance at a championship but as the third guy, and a max deal for him would tie up the Rockets finances for the next half decade and likely Fertila let him leave even after maybe a championship. It makes sense we’re not among his priorities

I’m pretty high on Richardson and understand where Miami is coming from.

Richardson just turned 25, is a good athletic 3&D player who can also slash a little bit. Versatile defender who can guard 1-3 seamlessly.

He’s locked up for 3 seasons at 11 mill per which is a steal for an above average starter with potential.

Butler is going to be asking for 35+ mill per season starting at 30 years old, honestly if I’m Miami I’d rather stay pay with young Richardson and Winslow for the cheap.

But whatever, if Miami wants to trade for Butler I just pray we could steal one of Tyus, Winslow or JJ away somehow.

If he goes to Miami, I hope Morey can jump in on that action and somehow land us James Johnson

It’s just tough to see how, Neither Miami nor Minny is going to want Knight, and we certainly shouldn’t be packaging a 1st with Knight for Johnson as his contract is significantly worse.

I think a trade would have to get complicated, involving Sacramento's cap space and Brandon Knight. When I say "complicated," I mean, because such a scenario could involve three or four teams. (IF Knight isn't packaged with other players to Sacramento, just (a) pick(s). Etcetera.)

Why do Miami want Butler with all those overpriced role players ? They need to blow it up and build with young talent.

    Richardson is goooood.

If he was on the rockets, clutchfans would think he has all-star potential.

He doesn't but he is extremely good. On par with ego imo. Less offense but more defense. The extra year of cheap value could be the tiebreaker for Minnesota as well as the age discrepancy.

I like Richardson too, he's a two way player and the contract is absolutely good, but he's 25, he probably reached his ceiling, and he's not an all star caliber player. His playoff performance wasn't exactly great either (fwiw)...being probably the best player on the Heat last season doesn't tell much imo, just like being the best player on the Nets for Jefferson doesn't mean he has that much value in a trade for a star. With that said i can see if Minnie sees him as a better piece than Gordon, he's young and signed for more years on a cheaper contract, but Riley not putting him in the deal for a star is laughable, Richardson is who he is, he's not going to be a star anyway, considering they won't have cap space for two years i'm not sure he has much of a choice, and losing Butler just to keep Richarson is at least curious.
