If Tillman's pocket books are open, I am open to taking on Dieng's albatross deal, as part of the compensation package to get Butler.

I think Harden / Paul could get a lot out of him.

This has no chance to happen, Clippers want cap space for the next free agency, Knight is on a 2 year deal, not to mention the Clippers are super loaded on the guards:

Alexander, Lou, Robinson, Bradley, Beverley, Teodosic...

Marquis Chriss to Brooklyn for a 2022 heavily protected 1st Rounder (top 15)

    Gordon, Nene, Brooklyn's 2022 1st, Houston's 2019 1st, Houston's 2021 2nd

    Let's get craaazy

    Capela
    Melo/Tucker
    Butler/Ennis
    Harden/Green
    Paul/MCW/Knight

Philly actually has little backup C depth and a hole at back up SG with draft pick Zhaire Smith injured. Bayless will likely not be playing as much for them this year if Fultz can get on the court and Saric would likely see less time after they signed Wilson Chandler and Mike Muscala over the summer.

    Hou Rec:
    Jimmy Butler
    Jerryd Bayless

    Minn Rec:
    Eric Gordon
    PJ Tucker
    Dario Saric
    Houston 1st round pick

    Philly Rec:
    Gorgui Dieng
    Markel Brown
    Houston 2nd round pick

I don't know if Philly wants to be a part fo a threesome if all they're getting is Dieng and a 2nd Rounder for Dario Saric. That kid is really good.

Maybe Norvel Pelle is their injury insurance, but if Embiid goes down, they have virtually no one to even stand near the rim and say boo on defense.
Maybe I’m lower than y’all on Saric but I saw him struggling in the playoffs and it’s likely that he’s going to be coming off the bench for them anyway.

Could move the picks around in that trade with all of them going to Philly, possibly even a Minnesota one.

It’s just that there’s only one team with cap space (Sac) and only a few teams that need backup center help, with Philly being he main one I’m seeing.

He’s still on the trade machine, and everything else on there looks accurate, maybe not tho?

I mean, i like Saric even if i can see what you're saying...but he's still pretty young (24) and on a super cheap contract for two more years, while Dieng (28) is one of the worse contracts in the league and he's not even good enough to be a solid backup...if teams asked two 1st rounders to absorb Anderson, i'm not sure the same can be said for Dieng...i mean, he might be literally unmovable as today with that 3 year 50M deal.

Saric is coming off the bench? I think hes solidified his spot on that team at the pf position. really good fit next to Embiid

He's not THAT great... just follow the numbers and not the hype.

    http://www.82games.com/1718/17GSW13.HTM

His net production versus opponents doesn't really make him much of an amazing defender. His help defense is good, but that's not the same as team defense. He gambles because of the modern offenses out there. It leads to highlights and all but for 48 minutes over 82 games and playoffs... that gambling has prices too. You're just choosing to ignore that because... and this is me unfairly putting words into your mouth... you're believing the hype.

Yes he's good, but not top 10 ever. I wouldn't even put him in the top 100 ever if you include both sides of the ball. He's overrated because he's transformed how you can play defense now. That's not on his skill, it's just the opportunity because of today's players. Put a bunch of Charles Oakley's back in the league and Draymond is average in every way.

... And if he lays cheap shots on Harden like he did in the playoffs... 3 different guys in the 80s and 90s are hitting him back. He's just taking advantage of the leeway he's given and changing playing style. That doesn't make him great, he's just the right player for situations. This is the definition of what role players do. You don't build around Draymond, you add Draymond to fill a role you need.

Imagine what you'd think of the guy if he was hoisting up 20 shots a night on 50% eFG. You can't win that way. He wins because he's a role player that excels in his role but even that's hyped too much.

I think it is two separate trades but the way that works is us giving Sac our two 1sts, they send Randolph to Minny, and take Dieng. We get to use them now instead of for Ryno for a worse contract. Saving those picks was critical. In exchange, Minny takes Knight and Zhou for Butler later. Securing the Dieng poison pill for them is the only way I think we have any leverage with them.

    Check out their full roster.

What is likely to end up happening is:
    Fultz
    Redick
    Chandler
    Simmons
    Embiid

    Bench:
    McConnell/Shamet
    Covington/Bayless
    Saric/Muscala
    Amir Johnson

i believe fultz and chandler will be playing off the bench. nothing tells me they will be propelled into the starting lineup after the season philly just had. all defensive first team covington isnt getting benched for chandler. and essentially a rookie isn't going to start for saric who hasn't done anything to warrant being replaced

Not sure why anyone would think Butler has any say in where he goes... he will end up on whatever team makes the best offer.

Yea the problem I'm running into is most bad teams have a glut of middling centers already and no one has cap space. It wouldn't be hard to line up a bad contract for bad contract swap, like what happened with Mozgov, but I think those are more likely before the draft.

I could see Covington over Wilson, but Covington had some real head scratchers in the playoffs shooting wise that made me not trust him.

    Code:

As far as Fultz is concerned I'm going to have to disagree here, this guy was the number one overall pick and at some point they're going to have to throw him in there if for nothing more than optics purposes.

i get the #1 pick angle but that doesn't just catapult him into the starting lineup. Philly has a really good thing going already. That doesn't mean by seasons end fultz can't make his way into the starting lineup. but he's going to have to prove it and work his way through play against actual nba competition and get positive results. He's still very much unproven atm but hell be the first one off the bench along w/ chandler from what it looks like

Brett Brown has already said him and simmons will be playing together at some points in games. that definitely isn't starting lineup talk
