My step dad's old law firm reworked the refs new cba a year or 2 ago. At one of the meetings between the refs and the NBA, Stern walks in late and sits down like he's the boss (which I guess technically he is). One of the partners of the law firm had a guy taking notes of everything that was being said. Stern yells at him to stop writing and the partner tells him to keep writing. Stern gets up, says '**** you', and walks out.
A big part of my dislike for Stern flashes back to the refs helping MJ so much. Stern views common fans as plebes who would rather have a dynasty than competition, seeming to think the chaos of competition would make our poor little heads hurt. This is why the ref situation is so important to Stern, as alluded to in the remarkable anecdote above. Stern demands all the refs understand the script that has offered and his threat that the script decides how much money the league will end up having to pay them.
Good job, Woj. Stern is a shady and shiesty mf. I hope somebody, somewhere in the NBA (maybe a player or coach) will take this "swan song" of Stern's and make fun of it. Mark Cuban, that's your cue.
