I'd trade for Smith in a deal like this:

Terrence Jones, Carlos Delfino, 2nd round pick

This way we still keep our capspace next summer and if Smith bolts, its not a bad price for a rental.

    No Asik, no Parsons.

Robinson, fillers, picks, Terrence Jones. Take it or leave it.

    Word.
I might go into a deep depression if morey trades either/both of them.

I think the Rockets will get this deal done.

Can't see any other team beating our offer.

I'd give up Terrence Jones and Motiejunas if it means we get Smith.

Maybe if we do trade for him, we sign him to an extension?

I would worry about Robinson as the starting PF on a superstar team, but we would have enough money to sign someone and use Robinson as the backup. Someone like David West of JJ Hickson could be the starter signing under a max contract, or grab an old vet to help, like Elton Brand.

Guess who else is a free agent......Houston's own, Rashard Lewis.

Ha! I wouldn't trade either Parsons or Asik for a soon to be free agent who would demand a contract that would eventually cripple a franchise. Why do you think the Hawks are hell bent on trading him if he's that good?

Damn, I wouldn't give either for Smoove, let alone both.

He doesn't bang in the paint, keeps jacking perimeter shots... If Morey acquires him, it is because he's a bait to get DH12, nothing more. Without

Is there any possible scenario that we can have both Josh Smith and Dwight next year?

Don't you guys know what "non-starter" means?

It means as soon as the Hawks say they want Asik or Parsons, Morey immediately pulls the plug on it. Yet, if the Rockets are involved at a "high-level" I assume that means T-Rob is a player they would be interested in. Garcia is an expiring contract basically. Those players for Josh Smith works salary-wise.

I would like to know exactly what second round picks the Rockets got in the trades?

It's moronic to give up Robinson (or anything of value) for Smith. Specially knowing we can sign Smith in the off-season.

why give up any good prospect like Jones for Smith? After the Robinson trade, i'd pull out of the josh smith talks entirely. We are set. If we want him, we can get him in the offseason.

If he's already made up his mind that he's signing with Houston in the offseason...

I don't know what other teams are offering for Josh Smith, but knowing Daryl Morey, he's probably not even offering T-Rob. I could see him offering Garcia and Honeycutt and then one or two of Jones, Motiejunas, Royce White. I doubt Delfino is out there, but he too is an expiring and could prove important there.

Or if they want T-Rob, then I could see them asking for their first round pick (from the T-Will trade) back. Daryl is that cold-blooded.

My only concern here would be that the need for an experienced four (which they don't have right now) gets them to bite -- I could honestly see that. I really, really hope not. Otherwise, Rockets have the leverage to wait until free agency.

even if we trade for him, there's no guarantee he doesn't walk at the end of the year
