You'd have to trade Asik and Lin to make room for 2 max deals with Harden.

Morey doesn't make trades everyone knows about.

Rockets made two trades already. So of course someone would throw out there that the Rockets would be involved in this major trade for another team to gain leverage.

Pay cut for both of them (not likely but who knows)
Asik is gone to get some more cap space.

Asked this a couple of pages earlier and some are adamant that this scenario is highly unlikely. But its Morey we're talking about, so I wouldn't completely rule it out yet.

I doubt DH will be leaving LA. Too much cash and attention he gets in LA. I don't mind JSmith and IF he can be snatch up today then get it done. Jones, DMo, 1st round and second round pick should be offer and nothing more.

must this best contract in the league meme be repeated incessantly. LBJ has the best contract in the league.

It is Broussard though so take it for what it's worth.

    I agree with your sentiment.

But we all now Morey, he is going to low ball his way any way he sees fit with the Hawks organization.

There's no reason to give up T-Rob or (Patterson, Douglas and Aldrich) a high ceiling player that can potentially make your bench that much lethal, if all that it would possibly take is 2nd rounder, T. Jones, Honeycutt, and Garcia.

I seriously doubt he pulls the trigger on an "ah wtf, why not" type deal. It's definitely going to be worth it if he's trading for Josh Smith the potential rental.

I think Asik & Parsons being thrown out there that the two could land Smith means ONE of them are probably being shopped around for another deal.. You're right. This raises their value for another player Morey might really want.

So this is saying that Thomas Robinson can't be traded with a combination of players. Disappointing. Morey should have waited one more day! I would much rather trade Robinson than Jones. I agree with the person that said Jones has a higher ceiling than T-Rob even though they were picked #18 and #5, and he also fits the Rockets system better. Without including T-Rob, this trade isn't happening, since D-Mo won't be included imo.

One of either ATL or LA would need to agree to a S&T and both Lin & Asik would have to be dealt.

A nice gamble might be to trade:

Lin, Jones, Honeycutt (necessary filler) for Smith and Jeff Teague

Teague will be a restricted free agent, much lower salaried PG. The point is to maintain the $20M Dwight cap room they have now.

My thinking is Asik's contract can be easily moved if a Dwight deal materializes. The Blazers are desperate for a center with rumors they will offer Pek who's restricted a max deal to pry him away from Minny.

The Hawks want something for Smith...all the Rockets have to do is give them an offer and near the deadline....the Hawks will give Smith to the best offer...

Things to remember is that Smith wants a Max contract...which will scare teams away from Smith or offer a crappy package for Smith...

all the Rockets need to do is hang in the talks and hope Rockets weak offer is better than others by the deadline.

Milwaukee, Phoenix emerging as frontrunners for Josh Smith deal, league sources tell Y! Sports. Boston still a "darkhorse," one source says.

But Smith alone keeps us in mediocrity. He should be a #3 option.
