Well that's part of it. The money is tied to the expectations. If Morrison were the 50th pick, bounced around teams and made the minimum, no one would care. He also probably wouldn't be as crushed.

The expectations are what created the calamitous failure. 2 rings and $10m are real nice but they probably doesn't help him sleep better at night. He was still a huge epic failure through no real fault of his own.

I hope he gets counseling on how not to pull Scottie Pippin post-retirement.

"Oh wait - maybe it isn't my two rings after all. Maybe it is the millions of dollars that I earned in my brief NBA career (in which I acquired two championship rings)."

Yeah. I don't feel bad for the guy. Sure, he didn't become a good pro. But can you imagine playing in the NBA for even a few years - getting paid millions and millions of dollars because you were the number three pick - and being part of a team that took home the trophy twice? Not to mention I'm pretty sure even the Lakers towel boy is banging models and actresses. I feel confident that Adam Morrison will be able to come to terms with his failure in the NBA and still remember those years as some of the best of his life.

p.s. if he's smart he'll never NEED to work again.

I read that he has Type 1 diabetes. Might have played a role in him not living up to expectations?

Doubt it. He had diabetes while playing college basketball and played well. He just wasn't good enough.

Jay Cutler has Type 1 diabetes as well.

That's gotta be some kind of super hoodie made of steel to be able to hold back Jordan Farmar's ears.

Needs a shot? Dude was a lottery pick for the Charlotte Bobcats.

Not like he was drafted by a team where he had to sit behind great players.

Apparently you have not seen Yi this off-season if so you would not make a statement like that.

You mean the top rebounder in FIBA? The guy who put up 20/10?

Yi is a solid rotation player unlike Morrison who bench warmed for two years, and Morrison was higher than Yi.

Nonsense, some of the top basketball minds in the country guaranteed his success.

Let me guess, Sampa Loompa went back and found some quote where I said I liked the guy?

He is so in love with me.

As for Morrison, he never really panned out, it happens, guys come into the league, never find their nitch and leave, whereas others that are not as highly thought of succeed.

    Oh well....**** happens.

He's young and rich. He'll take his game to Europe and still make more money than 99% of us ever will.

He is a spot up guy he needs teammates to pass him the open shot. He couldnt/cant make his own shots in the NBA i think his first years he had pressure to do good and help the team out and thats why he sucked... So ya he needs a chance to be on a team where he can come off the bench and just be a pass/shot guy. When he was in the lakers he only would get 5- a game.

What do you think he was on the Wizards? They didn't exactly expect him to create off the dribble.
