It'd never happen, but I'd like to see this group... Scola Hayes Artest Wafer Lowry I think we definitely need Landry to remain on the bench for a scoring punch, and with Hayes at PF we'll need more scoring from the wings. That's why Wafer gets the nod, and Battier starts on the bench. I also think one of our only chances is to get their best players in foul trouble early, and that's where Lowry comes in. Before the refs have a chance to dictate how the game will be called, he and Wafer need to attack, attack, attack to force some early whistles. Then we can come off the bench with Landry, Battier, Brooks, Barry when the Lakers go to their reserves. Honestly, I don't think anything is going to work in the sense that it'll lead to a win, but I'm definitely of the opinion that it needs to be shaken up a bit. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right?
blah! start hayes? he can defend pau or bynum, but can't score, however, they sag off him, which with tmac wasn't so bad, because he could get him easy layups all day, but we don't have that option any more...this really sucks, we have to start him or we'll lose 193 to 89, we can't easily replace his scoring, but i think we can win game 4 on pure emotion, this is a brief summary of how: wafer can't play stupid, must score 25 battier must shoot well and score 17 artest needs to score 25 shooting 50 percent roughly brooks needs to play like game 1 lowry needs to chip in more than usual landry needs to play like he was pre injury scola is now our main post option he needs more touches than anyone, it's easier to post him up, and it's easier for him to get shots from the elbow
I know...I hate to start Hayes against a team like the Lakers because it makes it so hard to match their scoring, but there's not much choice at this point. I think you've got to throw your best post defender at their best post scorer(s) and hope for the best. Maybe, just maybe, we can win a war of attrition.
We made it pass the first round in 12 years! That was our main goal this year and we got that completed so I say, "what do we have to lose now?" We should experiment a little. This line-up would be super fun to watch: Lowry Wafer White Artest Scola Bench Brooks Barry Battier Landry Dorsey or Cook Atleast it'll be a little more entertaining watching our boys get beat down now...
I was semi-serious when i wrote that. haha i wanna see him in action but im sure there was a reason why he didnt get any PT during the regular season... it would be pretty awesome if he did come in and gave us another boost of energy. We ARE getting outrebounded so maybe he can help us with that.
Hayes on Gasol is a very good matchup for us defensively. Hayes defends Gasol really well. I would put Hayes Scola Battier Artest Lowry
